Fcab?
My steering twitches slightly under braking, and i dont think its rotors as i had them replaced two months ago.
Its fine during normal driving but if i press hard and suddenly the steering turns/twitches a little bit. It happens when the weight transfers to the front during braking. I know my FCABs are slightly worn - could this be the reason? How can i isolate the problem? |

How many miles on the CABs? If you have someone to help you: drive you car slowly (less than 5mph) and when you apply the brakes and come to a stop worn CABs will allow the front wheels to pop out / move slightly. Good condition CABs will not allow this movement/play of the front wheels.

My FCABs were shot at 60,000 miles.

Yes, if your steering twitched under braking, then it's very likely that the fcabs are worn.

It is 100% the fcabs. Ask yourself a very simple question: are they original? "yes" or "i don't know" then replace it.
Welcome and be sure to see sig, do it all!

If the CABs are worn, when you brake, you'll hear/feel a distinctive jolt/clunk/thunk. You don't have to go fast; just five or 10 mph will do it, and then press the brake pedal smartly.
I had that thunk, replaced the CABs, and no more thunk.
