should I use Techron 2 times in a row?

Guys,

I just used Techron when I filled my tank but since I don't know what kind of gas the previous owner used, I debating whether use it again or wait a bit more. I heard that Techron can degrade the oil, that is my biggest concern.

Your input would be appreciated!

Sounds like BS to me. Chevron gas contains techron, and people fill up with it all the time. I haven't heard of any problems with it?

techron is fuel system cleaner

just how is it going to degrade the oil in a good motor?

that said, use it once in a full tank

Well, either way, both gas brands have fuel system cleaners in them. People use them all the time without any problem to their oil. That was the point I was trying to make.

Do it, you won't! No balls.

Techron has become weak recently anyway.

Seafoam.

DO NOT put in intake or vacuum lines or anywhere it can contact oil contrary to what others say. Fuel only.

Why is your gasoline mixing with your motor oil...

I recommend Liqui Moly Ventil Sauber (valve cleaner) and Jectron (injector cleaner).

the ammonia content of your piss will sterilize and clean your system. It will run like new.

Seafoam. 1/3 a bottle in a full tank.

Only treatment to use, or Startron (I think that is what it is called)

I thought the same thing...If that's happening you have bigger problems then techron can fix.

There will always be a small amount of fuel that leaks down past the rings into the crankcase, especially if the engine runs cold (short trips) a lot. Is it enough to worry about doing two treatments with Techron? Of course not. Pull the dipstick on an engine with 100K+ miles and smell it...you will most likely smell a little fuel.

That's crazy...

I mean... how would you even go about fixing that? If there was only same way a person could drain all the oil from their vehicle and replace it with new oil

perhaps you could even get a filter to help get particles out and really have some clean oil imagine how amazing that world would be...

I read about the possible oil degradation sometime ago in the general section. I needed to fill my tank again so I put the 20 oz Techron.
