I should be doing rolling the twisties which is right after memorial day wknd. We don't hit the dragon itself but we are driving a lot of the roads in the area

Once you get closer to summer time, that area gets VERY busy, and cops become ferocious since there is a lot of local traffic. Just a heads up.

There are some great roads in Socal, but I don't think they can compare to the dragon. I'd love to visit one day. Plus, our roads are swarming with cops waiting to hand out tickets like it was Christmas

Thanks! When are cops usually more laid back, and when do you guys usually head down for the S2000 stuff?

The s2000 dragon runs are in April and October. Both are dead tourist seasons, since its too cold to camp, hike, swim, etc. Late may into early september is prime season, so its a lot busier with the busiest being the summer months. This year the s2000 trip will be April 7-14th, but unfortunately I won't be able to make it this year....sucks, I've made the last 6 and then 2 before that.

Do you know what the cop/LEO situation is usually like in May? Should i assume it's going to be swarming?

Depends on the weather and the tourists, but may is still the school year and generally a lot of families visit the area, so May should still be alright. I would do a pass run just to see where/if there are any, and you should be ok.

I disagree, April-October is going to be loaded up with cops, especially if the weather is nice. They're there year-round these days, although I've noticed some years are more patrolled than others. They work 8AM to 8PM from what I've seen.

Reread what I wrote. Yes there are cops there all the time. However, their ENFORCEMENT changes drastically when the road is filled with families and thru traffic. When the only cars on the road are s2000s, they are much more forgiving.

Nirvana. That's what that place is. Been there three times and it never gets old. Worth the 12 hour drive from Toronto.
Been in April 2010, May 2011, and June 2012. Cops were never an issue for 99% of the roads. Only at that one bridge leading out of the Dragon with a high overlook point on the sides, sometimes they wait there with a speed trap because you come out of a corner into a long straight and it's tempting to keep your foot down. Other than that, there really is nowhere for them to pull you over on the Dragon itself.

True enough. I have ever actually seen them on the Dragon itself, but moreso on the neighboring roads a few miles out because they are long, sweeping, country backroads than tight twistes and people tend to speed a little there. Nothing a good radar detector and some sense can't handle

Gotta duck it down by the time you're pulled over, or have a stealthy install

I'd be up for that. I'll post in MAR closer to mem day. But I wanna check the dragon too so I might branch off just to say I've done it.
