Question Wandering alignment?

Hey everyone. I've begun noticing something peculiar and wonder if anyone has any insight.

After the winter wonderland that is Cleveland, I definitely need another alignment. I hit a nasty pothole and got a flat tire a few weeks ago.

The car is noticeably pulling left from Top Dead Center (TDC) on the steering wheel, and I need to maintain the steering wheel a degree or so to the right to go straight. However, I am also noticing that sometimes after making a left turn on the wheel and bringing it back to TDC, it seems to go straighter and sometimes even straight, then eventually it lapses back into the same behavior.

My car is a 2005 330xi and has 113,000 miles on it now. I had the front control arms, CV boots and rear springs done last autumn, and did a four-wheel alignment after that. Everything was definitely fine then. I am guessing my pothole experiences may have done something worse than flat tire/need alignment, what are the possibilities? I am a decent DIY'r so if it isn't too bad I'd like to try and fix it myself.

Thanks for reading and any info!

If you hit something hard enough to pop a tire on the 17 inch wheels, you could have definitely bent something. Obviously something was taken out of alignment. Get an alignment again and see if they can get everything within spec. Also have them inspect for anything bent or torn.

something you can check quickly and easily is the control arm bushing.

Yes...CAB could do that...and since it drives straight at times, I bet your alignment is fine. Check those bushings. Consider the Meyle HD bushing.

I'm still 'thinking' about my new HDs. Certainly will hold up better, but they do lack the fluid filled center of the oe lemforders (febi/bilstein bushings are also fluid filled) which cushion the car more. Six of one, half a dozen of the other...
