Well F@ck my company. I just got laid off a few hours ago. Reason- budget cuts and they said I make to much. They cut a few other people including a manager that just switched jobs to come here with a kid on the way. I fuc&ing hope they go bankrupt and loose everything. Good thing they kept all the overpaid family members.

sucks sorry mate. sounds like a poorly run family business and **** was starting to hit the fan. obviously they aren't going to get rid of family members, but i'm sure they are possibly taking big pay cuts to hopefully get things back on track.

file for unemployment and there are plenty of jobs in the chicago area. i'm sure you'll be back working somewhere soon. and for god's sake, move the hell out of mokena!!!

I know they won't be making them take any cuts. If anything they'll get raises and promotions.

Luckily, I did move out of Mokena. I had an opportunity to break my lease so I moved back home in case I quit or decided to move out of state. Sucks but atleast I don't have rent over my head.

5hrs/day travel... nope. I wouldn't do that for double my salary.

Find a new job, sorry but if they are willing to do that to you and not make it up by compensating you with laxer hours and more pay, they don't deserve a loyal employee like yourself!

edit: didn't see the date. It was only a matter of time it seems...

Great update.

My previous employer that laid me off has gone under. Great success! I gave it 6 months from my departure, and it only took 3 to run itself into the ground.

Finally starting my new job tomorrow that I've been holding out for.......
