JL Audio setup

I currently am running 2 10" jl audio w3v2s with a 300/2 amp. It feels really underpowered. If i upgrade to a 500/1 amp, would it hit a lot harder? If not, what should i change to get my system bumping properly?

ok well if u ahve a 1 channel amp.. u cant power 2. so u would only have 1 sub going.. it would probly hit around the same who knows. but you'd have a higer chance of blowing it.
i just blew my 12'' type R i have a rockford 801s. (800 watts 2 channel.)
so i just ordered 2 12'' type R. that should do the job

maybe u should try a 2 channel amp around 600-800w/2

you will be better off with the jl 500/1. its made to hits subs and u can easily run 2 w3v2 with it. it all comes down to the wiring, how many ohms are ur subs? if they are dual 4ohms, u can wire the subs in parallel and to the amp in parallel to give the amp a 1ohm load. if they are dual 6ohms, u can wire the sub again in parallel and both to the amp in parallel for a 1.5 ohm load. the jl amp is stable down to 1.5 ohms so ur safer with the 6ohms subs, which would be getting about 250watts rms each. if they are dual 4ohms, the subs would get around 350 watts and the load wouldnt be too much for the amp. if u have questions about wiring, jus ask.

ok thanks a lot kb and shibby. im out of town until august so i cant really look at my car and figure out the ohmage(i just wanted to see what i should be purchasing in the near future). my friend can get the hookups on a power acoustik amp. i know they arent that prestigious, but would a 1400 watt class D amp work well with the subs, or is that too much? any help is appreciated gratefully

a power acoustic amp would give the subs alot of power, maybe even dangerously so, but if u can get one for cheap, go for it.
the power rating for the w3v2 are 300 watts so if u wire the subs in series and to the amp in parallel, u would give the amp either a 4ohm load (4ohm subs) or 6ohm load (6ohm subs). the 1400 watts are prolly at 1 ohm so wiring them this way would give the subs 350 or 250 watts, just enough power. jus make sure to get a D amp aka monoblock aka 1channel amp.

it all depends on how much you're willing to spend.

but u're really underpowering your 2 10w3v2s at the moment.
