Lightbulb 04 325ci vert

Got her for $13.5k and she only has 35.6k miles. Tan interior- full leather. Only thing that sucks is the crappy base radio.

How many agree with me that this is a killer deal- and I got it from a VW dealership.

I picked up a warranty package for $3200 given my lack of mechanical skills. Kinda feel dirty about that, but the overall deal on the car makes me feel like I'm still ahead.

Agree? Disagree?

That's not bad- better than what I got, if it makes you feel any better. Paid the same $ for my 04 325ci in August '12 with 70k on it. But then again, I openly admit I kinda got screwed. It was the only sapphire black one on the market at the time within a few hundred miles of me.

Hell, regardless, welcome to the forum!

Hahah- i prob did get hosed on warranty. But, I couldn't help to think that after reading the forum that I would likely incur serious repairs exceeding 3k over the next 4yrs. Plus, its gonna be my wife's commuter car. Thanks for welcoming me. I would enjoy hearing from others as well.

I'd agree with that, but if it gives you piece of mind, then its value is there for you.

Good price on the car. You see cheaper ones out there, but high mileage, or just bad shape. Clean cars are worth every extra penny. For reference, last fall I paid $15000 CDN for a 2004 330Cic 6 speed with 70000 miles. But its mint, so it was worth it to me.

Here she is

Just a stock photo and not a full view, but it's all the dealer had on hand.

The issues that surface so far in inspection are:

Cracked Serpentine Belt - they are replacing
Front sway arms (I think) - they are replacing
Front Tires are worn (in my humble novice opinion)
Dealer only replaces at 3mm during its preinspection and the report says all tires are at 4mm. I say no way - the rears are deeper tread, so they can't all be at 4mm. So if they remeasure and it gets to 3mm they will replace (I'm working my salesperson hard to get that done - I'll let yall know how that goes.

Ok - Here is a "real" question - I noticed that the interior top center of the soft top has an opening (no crank or button or anything) and a sticker that shows an open lock and closed lock. Naturally, I assume there is a missing knob of some sort (I forgot to press my salesperson on that) - are my assumptions correct?

Aside from the warranty, it looks clean from the picture. Good luck and enjoy!

That hole is for manually latching and unlatching- check the owners manual. There should be a plastic cover over it. You can get one at the dealer

It's still at the dealer, so don't have the manual yet.

Thanks Rag! Just a hole that needs a cover - sweet - that's easy and likely no cost.

Cool - thanks. If it makes $$ sense I would seriously consider. I'm not gonna be installing it myself, so I'll have to get a quote too - perhaps u can get me a model # that way I can talk to some installers before I commit. Thanks again!

All warranties are rape.

No company would sell a product they lose money on. So most people will lose a lot on their warranty, while a few will be glad they have it.

Thanks, Taylor - good stuff. ok - my car is 9 years old, but I'm covered for 4 years from today, so how many 13 year old 325 Verts (even though it only has 36k miles) go that long with needing some sort of repairs outside of regular maint/normal wear & tear?

Come on - who dares to lie? :-)
