Where is the right place to jack from?

I've looked at a few threads and am still a little confused at to there to Jack from. Is the proper place the center of the rear crossmember?

there are four black pads (behind the front wheels and in front of rear wheels) that you can use.

You can also use the rear subframe support - but try not to lift with the diff

From the rear, your will see a cross member immediately forward of the differential. It is the member that the control arms are bolted to. Jack goes there. In the front, there is also a cross member, but the front jack location should have a pre-installed jack pad if it has not fallen off.

I still have the jack pads, but my question was really for the floor jack. I had seen one guy who showed the car needing to be jacked on the sides and boards needing to be placed under the tires to get the car high enough to get the jack under. It looked like he was putting the jack all the way back to the second cross member when he was jacking.

I don't trust the front jack pad at all.

I like to jack at LR and put a stand under LF, repeat on right side, then jack center rear and put stands at rear side jack points.

i'm also suspicious of the front jack pad. if i'm not mistaken, it's only a slender plastic "pin" that holds it in place. having said that, i do use it to get jack stands under the side pads. and then i put a jack stand under the sub-frame tube next to the front pad as a back up.

My Jack pad in front its missing half of it, got a new one looks like the thin pin gets pushed through and the plastic piece that goes in to cross member expands to secure it ? Am I right on that?

Yes. There is another post with a guy replacing that plastic pin with metal.

Where did you buy it? I'm trying to decide where to get it cheap, or whether to just use a hockey puck

that pad you show is on the front subframe - not the typical (which I am certain yours has) side pads
