Our local range was hawking the Halo points. I shot them, they don't feel much different. The rounds themselves are lighter, weight-wise. They don't feel much different shooting-wise.

They had one fired into a gel block, the penetration and fragmentation looked pretty decent

Pretty much all of the "hyper velocity" pistol loads are all just snake oil. When they impact, they have near explosive expansion that causes them to expand immediately and bleed off all energy quickly, creating very shallow penetration. Contrary to what these companies profess, they cannot make pistol rounds work like rifle rounds.

If you look at Liberty's website, they make some pretty BS claims.

First, look at this picture below; "wickedest" is not a real word. It's pretty shitty grammar. Then, they have the X over the SF regimental insignia, which implies 10th Special Forces Group.
Most likely, this implication comes with them sending their ammo the 10th SF group unsolicited, or giving it to them in person. This is a common tactic to claim their ammo is used by SF or SEALs or CAG or whomever.

Then there's this one, which confirms my assumption above. I know this because they don't have any military ammo contracts. Every small arms ammo contract belongs to either ATK or Black Hills.

RBCD/LeMas is one such company that claimed this stuff, and is now on permanent ban by the US government.

A quality pistol round should not fragment at all. Quality bullets like the HST, Gold Dot, Golden Saber Bonded, Critical Duty, etc. all have very high weight retention through all barriers.

Also, be wary of gel block tests. Most people use commercial grade or food grade gelatin, and not ballistic gelatin. Additionally, the gel is not shot at the proper temperatures. Most is too warm, which makes for deeper, and more inaccurate, penetration.

There's also a company named RBCD/LeMas that keeps popping up every couple years selling hyper velocity snake oil rounds.
Neither of the links you posted. The box was black & gold... It was also something like $28/box of 20 - and my gun shop isn't terribly priced on ammo in comparison to what I've seen elsewhere.

I may stop in there Saturday, if they still have it, I'll report back...

I was there today, It was Liberty Ammunition, but it is not the Halo Points... They still have two boxes (of 10) that they had gotten weeks ago...
