My Ride: my favorite two feet
If one of your selling point is a push to open fuel cover... then again it does distract from the ugly headlights and lack of support in the sport seats

I think the car would be appropriate if it had the power to back up the aggressive look. 204hp in the is250 is just silly by today's standards. I had an 07 IS250 and bought a 2010 328i to replace it.

Much better car(minus the silly key system).

I must say that when I drove the current IS - the ride comfort and smoothness was awesome. However the lag on those paddle shifters were ridiculous - and I think the same is true for the new 2014 series

Which has 230hp. So what? The new 320i has 180hp. Horsepower isn't everything.

So Lexus flew me out to Las Vegas a few weeks ago to drive the IS250/350 F SPORTs at Las Vegas Motor Speedway, and they were actually pretty impressive on the track, with the F SPORT's suspension tweaks really noticeable on the track. I also got to drive the 2014 IS-F (which still runs on the old platform), and while having 414HP at your disposal is fun, it just can't compare to the new chassis. No word on when the IS-F will make the move to the current platform, but when they finally do, look out!

They brought me a 2014 IS350 AWD F SPORT to drive this week, so I could see what it's like in the real world, and so far I'm quite enjoying it. While the headlights still bug me somewhat, the radical design is starting to grow on me. With front plates, the grille isn't so obnoxious either. The car's gets a TON of looks, and parking it next to an old IS this morning, it was amazing at how different the two cars look.

If you have any specific questions about the car, let me know, as I've still got the car until Monday.

I think I would have a piece made that continues the bumper across the canyon of a grill.

Here are some pictures of my loaner this week, it actually doesn't look bad at all in this color.. (I drove a white one in Vegas, and that color made the headlights look that much worse)

As you can see, the front plate actually helps (though the EZ-Pass thing on the plate I could do without). I don't know if there are pre-drilled mounting holes or not, but if not I'd probably mount it slightly lower myself.

There's a white one parked in the lot adjacent to our apartments. I will agree that the headlights are awful, even in person. The side profile makes it look like it has a nose protruding in front of the lights. It's an awkward bump. Hell... the entire profile of the car is awkward. I am a fan of the rear, though.

Maybe you've answered this before: what do you do that causes Lexus to fly you out to drive their new vehicles and then lend you one for a week? Do you write/review for a magazine/website?

My Ride: A car.
Dad had a couple of older LS', ride is great if you want to be totally removed from everything resembling the road. No feedback whatsoever.
The crazy styling is nice to see from Lexus, but that isn't enough to get my into one of them other than as a passenger.

Stupidest Lexus I currently see is a murdered out SC430 here in San Diego...LOLOLOLOLOLOLOL

I think that is a great idea and Lexus should have hired u in their design team

Cartman - you are right that the front licence plate makes the grill look less hideous - btw are u a car reviewer?

That car is ugly as sin. Is Lexus trying to compete with Acura? 3G TL was great, look at 4G TL. 2G IS was good, 3G IS........yeah.
