Exclamation HELP: Weird Check Engine Light Issue (Involving: p0313,p0174 ect)

So I've read numerous threads and utilized the tips but i STILL have my check engine light since AUGUST on 2012! I FINALLY think i may have the solution, hopfully. Here's the facts:

2001 BMW 325ci (m54)

I had the infamous check engine codes:

p0313 Misfire Detection with Low Fuel level
p0174 System Too Lean (Bank 2)

p1343 Misfire Cylinder 1 with Fuel Cutoff
p1351 Misfire Cylinder 5 with Fuel Cutoff

also.. "Catylsts code" - There may have been a few others but I'll get to the point:

Initially, I brought it to a friend's shop, a reputable shop. He checked the codes, had an automotive electriction go over it and he found nothing. He supposedly did a smoke test, showing a small leak in the intake boot which was then changed. Next he installed new camshaft sensors, swapped the ignition coils, new NGK spark plugs, new air boot ect ect.. The usual tune-ups.. NOTHING CHANGED,

Next, after reading a few threads, I checked the MAF Sesnor myself and cleaned it. Next I took out the DISA, checked its functioning (fine) and cleaned it. STILL NOTHING.

Now it's been like this for quite some time. I'm out of options. My friend suggested something that he did to his truck. I installed a MagnaFLow Exhaust and a dual resonator delete over last summer. I forget if it was before or after the light; but either way.. my friend said there could be too much back flow or something causing the system to be too lean ect ect.. he suggested purchasing two 18mm spark plug fowlers and drilling one with a 3/4" drill bit. Next, plug the o2 sensor into the drilled fowler, connect the that fowler with the second fowler and then plugging the into where the o2 sensor origionally was. I guess this moves the o2 sensor out of the way and into the "air". This will then "confuse" the computer that everything is "okay".. ? IDK ? .. but it seemed legit when I googled it and it's worth a try.. Because if I replaced the o2 sensor, it wouldn't matter; it would keep reading "too lean" "misfire". I didn't know how to do it and he's hard to get in touch with.. we tried one day by putting the car on a jack, but there's a metal shield under the car making in difficult to remove the o2 sensor. We didn't have the time to finish.

And that's where I'm at now.. I need to figure out how to take the shield off. I wish I had access to a lift but I don't. Hopefully it'll work. If ANYONE had another solution or thought please let me know..
