**Official 818/805 Caravan To Bimmerfest 2013**

Alright people,

Bimmerfest 2013 is a little over a month away and there wasn't any caravans in the making for our area. The two previous guys who did it, Zuckuss and MalibuMafia aren't doing it this time, so I'm going to step up and make this work Everything will basically be the same. Same meeting place, same scheduling.

Where: 4754 Commons Way Calabasas, CA 91302-3363

This is the same spot we met last year. Worked great, access to the freeway was easy, plenty of parking with no hassles. Vons is right in the complex so you can grabs food or whatever you guys need before we depart.

When: Saturday, May 18 2013. We will meet from 7:00-7:45 A.M. We will depart at 8:00 A.M. Bimmerfest gates open at 9:00 A.M. It take about a hour to get there from Calabasas. So please try to be on time, we want to arrive at the show in a timely manner.

Post up if you plan on attending! This is a really awesome part of the event! Please remember to obey the speed limits and don't do anything stupid. CHP will be monitoring the highways like always, they know of the annual event. We will also try to organize a merge with the Bay area caravan coming down the 101, to make the Caravan ever better.

Also, I spoke to MalibuMafia and he is going to try to work in some Law Enforcement friends to help keep the streets clear for us as we depart. With that being said just remember:

BE SMART AND RESPECTFUL
NO BURN OUTS
NO LOUD ENGINE REVING
NO LOUD MUSIC
NO ILLEGAL ACTIVITIES
THERE WILL BE POLICE AROUND AND ITS EARLY IN THE MORNING SO IT WOULD BE COURTESY TO BE GOOD TO THE SURROUNDING AREA AND SHOPPING CENTER

We will be taking the 101 to the 134 to the 210 to Rose Bowl Dr.

Any questions... post them up or email me: aznspartan6492@aol.com

This is my first time doing this so I can only hope it goes smoothly

Here is the Map. Meet spot in Calabassas Commons parking lot in RED. To avoid confusion. When we leave we follow the BLUE HIGHLIGHTED ROUTE

I'm reposting this for a friend.

Just name it the Calabasas caravan thread. And i'm fairly sure MMV will have the sheriffs escort us again.

All good.

I'm just too busy with school to organize everything again this year. Bimmerfest is literally the weekend before finals week this year.

Just keep this thread bumped and cross post the info on the other BMW forums.

Local people know where to meet at.

Edit:

Also, idk about the police escort this year. Last year, CHP was not very happy with the large group of BMWs on the freeway. I'm sure Calabasas PD got complaints.

CHP gets complaints every year. It's not limited to our stretch of the 101. also..didn't know Calabasas had its own police dept. or did you mean Ventura County Sheriff's? Escort onto the freeway probably helps with traffic if anything. Anyway I'm sure Jake will join our caravan. I'm forcing him to. That should get this caravan goin.

Last year CHP got a surge of calls about the caravan causing problems on the highway, mostly people breaking speed laws. CHP started targeting cars and ticketing drivers, even impounding a members car. Members mentioned the police helping with the merge to the CHP and I'm sure it went up farther than that.

Either way, the CHP will be out in force just like ever year. Possibly even worst this year.

You all need to relax about CHP. It's as simple as this. Obey the law and don't drive like a complete idiot and your not going to get pulled over. Make sure you have your plates on, make sure you have your windows down if you have tint, make sure your not revving, make sure your not speeding, make sure your car has proper registration on it... you know the law.

+1 just obey the rules. last time an e90 almost slammed into me on the 101 cause he was trying to show off and traffic slowed down unexpectedly

I think as the lowest horsepower member, Betsy needs to be the pace car.

I will be visiting the town for the first time to attend this. Cool if I join y'all? This would help me with the confusion of getting into the Rose Bowl area.

perfect! looking forward to this for sure.
one more question since I hear LA has really bad traffic. if my hotel is in Culver City, when should I leave to make it to Calabasas around 715am? I'd rather not be stuck in traffic and be late. I know ways around traffic in San Antonio but I have NO idea about LA.

You don't want to go to Calabasas from Culver City. That's completely backtracking. You should tag along with the West LA caravan, not the Calabasas caravan.

+1 clear sailing. it'll be a fun drive from Culver. Take the 10 east to 405north to 101 west, exit parkway calabasas. Pretty straightforward. Maybe 30-45 min.

Yeah, I've decided to tag along with y'all. I know more people in this group anyway. The extra 30 minute drive is nothing to me since I spend about 1 hour and 30 minutes in my car everyday driving to work and class. Plus, I'm wanting to make the most of my trip. Still super excited.
