5/5/13 - 30th Deutsche Marque Concours - Vienna VA

http://www.dmconcours.com/

We're doing things a bit differently this year, the 30th meeting of the three Deutsche marques. There will be a car corral for non-BMW CCA members who would like to attend the event. There is no charge for spectators, but you must be a BMW CCA member to display your car for the concours judging.

For any details on the concours please contact me.

We have a pair of supporting acts to this year's show - a detailing seminar and judging clinic.

- Spring Detailing School at Mercedes-Benz of Tyson’s Corner
Thursday April 18, 6:30 pm – 9 pm
Mercedes-Benz of Tyson’s Corner
8545 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182

Mercedes-Benz of Tyson’s Corner, a Deutsche Marque Sponsor is helping us prepare for the upcoming 30th anniversary of the Deutsche Marque Concours d’Elegance with this event, a Detailing School, designed to get our cars (Mercedes-Benz, Porsche and BMW’s) ready for the May 5th show.

Though M-B of Tyson’s is hosting, Odds & Ends Detailing will be presenting the school. This is a great way to get to know both of these sponsors a little better, and we very much appreciate both of their help with this the 30th Anniversary of the Deutsche Marque event.

In this detailing school, attendees will gain hands-on knowledge that they can take home to prepare their Deutsche Marque entry. Learning some tricks of the trade to help you spend the next few weekends preparing your car for the concours. This will be more than a brief explanation of the detailing process; it will be a chance to bring your problems to the expert for advice on what you can do to make your German marquee Car stand out from the rest. Plan on trying out some new products and techniques!

We have set this event up, after work, on a Thursday night, so you will have a chance to work on your car the following weekend. So join us for a beer, a glass of wine, and some light fare, and lots of in-depth car talk.

This event is open to all Deutsche Marque participating clubs, BMW, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz Club members. Registration is $15 paid to MBCA | GWS, either on the gws-mbca.org website, or with a check mailed to the M-B Club.

- Deutsche Marque Concours d’Elegance Judging School
Saturday May 4, 9 am – 3 pm
Mercedes-Benz of Tyson’s Corner
8545 Leesburg Pike, Vienna, VA 22182

We will be holding the 2013 Deutsche Marque Concours Judging Class at Mercedes-Benz of Tyson’s Corner in Vienna VA on Saturday, May 4, the day before the Deutsche Marque Concours d’Elegance. This one-day class will have you ready for the show and the coming year of Concours events!

How can you become a Concours Judge, or just improve your skills? What does a judge look for when judging a German Marque Automobile? This is your opportunity to find the answers.

This class is open to all members of the BMW, Porsche and Mercedes-Benz Clubs who want to judge at the Deutsche Marque. This class will teach you how judge new, classic, and customized German cars for Concours d’Elegance events. You will learn what judges look for when judging, and what to ignore!

The class will be taught by Pete Lesler, Mercedes-Benz Club of America (MBCA) National Concours Chair and past MBCA President, who has been chief judge at a number of world class Concours events around the country!

The class will be taught in the conference room of Mercedes-Benz of Tyson’s Corner, starting at 9 am. We will break for lunch (provided) and after lunch the group will break into judging teams reviewing participants cars based on what was learned in the class. Everyone will then return to the conference room where Pete will go over the judging and discuss the scores.

A light breakfast will be offered and lunch is included in the cost of the class. The cost of the class will be $15 you will need to reserve your spot early, as Pete’s classes always fill up quickly!

To Register go to the gws-mbca.org website and click on the Deutsche Marquee Concours Judging School. You can pay by credit card online or send a check in.
