Ill go over it in detail in the OP once I type it up tomorrow.

On BTC-e your wallet address will be located under the "Finances" link under your username. Click on Finances, Click on "Make A Deposit" in the LTC section, at the bottom of the page, youll get a long random number ... this is your wallet address for LTC. Input this address into your account on notroll.in and save changes.

The things youll need for your BAT file are your Worker username (user_name.1) and password (whatever you have your miner password as) and, you will need your pool's url and port number.

If you are using CGMiner ... try out CGEasy to make your config/bat for you!

Graphics cards are superior for processing algorithms.

Got everything setup and then I realized that cgminer doesn't even work with nVidia cards...

Idk what I'm doing though

says - Your Balance: 0.00046621 LTC

and it's been running for 10 minutes lol

That's a good thing, means all your processing power is going towards one thing, mining!

Based on that speed though you're probably better off playing the trading game than mining.

What speed are you getting? I'm at 55.93 kH/s, I'll leave this on for the night to see how it goes, maybe I'll get some ATI cards tomorrow

I was at 7kH/s with an NVIDIA GeForce GT520 graphics card... =\

I have an Intel Core i7-3770 CPU @ 3.40GHz, does that play any role?

If I went out and replaced my current graphics card, everything would go faster?

For those wondering why GPU's (specifically AMD chipsets) I highly recommend reading through this thorough review, particularly the section on GPU computing.
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6137/t...eview-part-1/5

Quote:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/what-is-gpu-computing.html
GPU computing is the use of a GPU (graphics processing unit) together with a CPU to accelerate general-purpose scientific and engineering applications. Pioneered five years ago by NVIDIA, GPU computing has quickly become an industry standard, enjoyed by millions of users worldwide and adopted by virtually all computing vendors.

GPU computing offers unprecedented application performance by offloading compute-intensive portions of the application to the GPU, while the remainder of the code still runs on the CPU. From a user's perspective, applications simply run significantly faster.

CPU + GPU is a powerful combination because CPUs consist of a few cores optimized for serial processing, while GPUs consist of thousands of smaller, more efficient cores designed for parallel performance. Serial portions of the code run on the CPU while parallel portions run on the GPU.
So yeah, graphics cards are parallel processors and CPU's are linear. When it comes to code breaking and certain kinds of data analysis (mining being akin to both), graphics cards are vastly superior thanks to their parallel nature.

Halo: What is a reliable source to transfer USD to LTC funds? none of the sources listed on btc-e tickled my fancy... Is there any one of them you trust?

As Halo and I were talking about, the best cards to look in to are the new ati Tahiti based chips, specifically the 7950 and 7970.

Grab two of these guys if you want to be off to a good start,

What's better? AMD or ATI? I'm sure it depends on the person answering but what the hell do I know.

Same company, AMD bought ATI and I just have the habit of calling their graphics card ATI still.

Nowadays it's AMD vs invidia, and I'd be willing to bet the nvidia tesla cards would kick some serious ass at mining.

Also responding, just a moment.

So it's either:

1. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Diamond+...&skuId=5415649 or

2. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Galaxy+-...uId=1304486071 ?

Why is this going for $20,000?
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Batch-2-Aval...item460e0a185b

If it's just a tower and graphic cards?

Oh and I was wrong with your chipset, it's got 3 PCI-E slots, you can multi-board it.

You don't want to look in to the nvidia stuff, they have a fundamentally different chip architecture that doesn't lend themselves to this work. Their next gen stuff should be coming out soon though that will probably beat out the current AMD offerings.

As for the $20k unit, I mentioned ASIC's in my message, that's one of them, they're the reason litecoins are going up in value, ASIC made it impossible for anyone to mine BTC at any reasonable level, which may cause an exodus of sorts to the LTC mining group. It's all a race to the bottom...

I think I have an understanding of it, but the part that is kicking my ass is the code, installing crap that I have no idea how to do. Ian, I'll wait for you to help me this Friday when you land.

I assume this will work on an iMac?
