People with Component Speakers...

Where did you mount your tweeters? I was thinking the spot in the middle of the door would be better. TIA

Speakers

I mounted mine in the stock locations. If you set the Xover point at about 200 you get good imaging. When you lower it it tends to blur and pull toward the driver. So....there is some info on that setup.

I thought about mounting them in the middle of the door - lemme know how it turns out. Might help your imaging.

I used the stock locations. A little more work to get to than the mid-door solution. They are picking up an electrical/mechanical noise (not a hiss) that I did not hear when I had the OEs on the same setup.

I mounted in the stock location. I simply pushed the tweeter body into the foam piece that goes in the stock tweeter location. Perfect fit for a 1"
tweeter. If your tweeter is smaller you can simply tape it in place or epoxy to the foam. The tweeters don't move at all.

You can try this

I took a dremel and opened up the little hole the stock tweeter comes in (in that mid tweeter housing) and slid the tweet in. OR just get a backstrap - bend it up and fasten it that way. Backstraps rule for stuff like that.

I put my in the stock location as well. Took out OEM tweeters. Used a dremel on the tweeter harnes to make it a little bigger then used epoxy on the new tweeters. Fit well. The for better imaging I set the x-over on the componets tweeter selection to + 3db to get a better imaging...

Daz,
You have Audiobahn ABC5002 components?
Is so, did your manual tell you that you had tweeter adjustments?
