The explosion appears (to me at least) to be terrorist-related. It looks as if it were designed to destroy people.

That explosion looked way too tactical to be something transformer-related. Lots of people, concentrated explosion. Transformer explosions are very big and have lots of smoke since they're filled with oil. I agree with Mango. I believe someone planned this.

What's with all the stupid jokes?

Rip to those who lost their lives.

If you ever ran a marathon you'd know how much work everyone puts into this race let alone qualify.

Have some class guys.

If it were an accident, what exactly would provide enough shrapnel to blow peoples legs off? You need a contained explosion to provide that amount of energy. Natural gas would have blown out windows and burned people, but not done this kind of damage.

The fact that there are more "devices" is proof this was intentional. The question is who and why.

edit: I heard about something at the JFK library. If I were there right now, get away from public areas.

thinking domestic terrorism? on another note, i am not sure al qaeda outsources their bomb-making to pros. usually home-grown cells on a budget. could be domestic, though... who knows?

Just to keep things in perspective for you guys...

These things happen in other countries on a consistent bases... I understand this is America and we don't get these types of situations often but people need to stop overreacting saying, "This is bullshit!" ... "The world is crazy!" "What is wrong with people!" etc., we just need to learn to accept these things happen everywhere around the world everyday. It is sad but stop acting like just cause it happen on American soil we need to go to war with whoever and kill hundreds of thousands of more lives because of it.

Things like this happen every week around the world.

agreed. contained and deflected up against a building as seems the case here. seems one was in a trash can near a wall. i wonder what kind of fragments are found at the scene. terrible and hopefully there's more security/screening at these events including checking trash cans

You are really, extremely correct about this.

The world is still bullshit and crazy. Just because it happens elsewhere every day doesn't make it any less crazy - it's just even more evidence as to how crazy it is

The thing is though, this isn't the rest of the world. We live here, therefore we tend to care more about incidents that happen here. It's personal to us. It can be prevented with better security.

truth. not so much about the learning to accept it part... but the part about people not thinking this stuff happens.

most americans live in a bubble with their head up their ass though.
