So in an unexpected turn of events when I went to get my tires balanced my buddy at Firestone had some 17" sport wheels he was selling. I paid $150 for then immediately went home and prepped and painted them. Can't wait to mount them!

Ok guys so my boring build thread just got a little more exciting, maybe this will get your attention. I was browsing through craigslist and found someone selling an Mtech 2 bumper and facelifted hood. I contacted him and decided I would go check it out tonight. So I got over there and he said he just wanted the stuff out of his spare bedroom so he gave me a killer deal. Mtech 2 bumper with mesh mouldings fog light bezels and fog lights, facelifted hood, facelift black kidney grilles, and a facelifted alpine white trunk lid in really nice shape (for sale if anyone needs it). I talked to the guy a little bit and he showed me his 330i Mtech 1. Topaz blue with dove grey interior. Really nice car. He's actually a member on here "BluBerry". Turns out I actually am good friends with his brother. Anyway heres some pics of the parts.

Hey guys after struggling with the fitment a little bit I got the rings installed and the needles painted and reinstalled in the car. I also went ahead and pulled the headliner and a b and c pillars out of the car and stripped the fabric off them. I am going to recover everything this weekend with the alcantara fabric that I ordered.

Alright so I got all the pieces except the headliner wrapped last night. Still have to finish painting the plastic pieces. Here are some pics.

Sorry if its a little blurry I had to stand on a jack to be able to get it all in the pic.

Heres a close up of one of the c pillars.

This stuff is a little more difficult to work with than what I've used in the past because this is actually headliner alcantara and has an 1/8" foam backing but its worth it because the material feels so nice and squishy!

Hoping to get the headliner done tonight and get everything back in the car!

Alright so I finished up painting the plastic pieces. I used SEM Color Coat Satin Black which I have used in many other occasions and it matches BMW's factory black plastic perfectly. Its very easy to use and is very durable in my experience.

Soon. I still haven't got her CL-S sold yet so I'm a little low on funds for the time being.

Thought you guys might enjoy this. Over the weekend my dad and I picked up a pretty rare find. 1971 BMW 3.0 CSi VIN # 2260547. Manufactured October 22, 1971 and delivered to the BMW dealer Schafbrucke in Saarbrucken, Germany. At some point it was imported into the US grey market. 1971 was the first year for the 3.0CSi which featured a mechanically injected (D-Jetronic) M30 and a dogleg five speed manual transmission. According to BMW there were 1061 CSi's built in 1971 and this car is production #547. The original color was Baikal metallic (paint code 042). At some point in its life the car was turned into a convertible as was semi-popular back in the day and painted Alpine White. We plan to fully restore the car and come up with a better version of the convertible top that was originally retrofitted to the car. Should be a fun project I am fairly excited about owning and restoring such a beautiful piece of BMW history. Here's a few pictures of the car as it sits.

The car at the previous owners house.

Notice how they did the convertible top. Similar to the way you would do a boat top. Not very found of it. We will be coming with a more factory like solution.

Sitting in our garage with my small block 280z.

Original European gauge cluster.

And just a little picture of how good these cars do look as convertibles

Haha thanks bud I appreciate it. We have a pretty good collection. Ill post some more of them when I go back to Huntsville on the 18th. My dad has a 78 928 Euro, 1970 240z and a 2003 XJ8 Sovereign.

I just finished scraping all the foam off the fiberglass headliner board and vacuuming it. Ready to wrap but I have work early in the morning so it will have to wait until tomorrow after work. Excited to get it done and put everything back in the car!

I almost forgot! I took a quick picture of the gauge cluster earlier. My flash washed out the colors a little but oh well. You get an idea of how it looks. Im happy with the results

Alright so I've been pretty busy lately and the weather has been crappy. I finished up the headliner and I am putting it back in the car a little later tonight after I meet up with some buddies for some beers. Ill post up some pics once everything is back in.

Alright so I finished installing the headliner tonight. Pics to come tomorrow. Ordered up a 24"x60" sheet of 3M Scotchprint 1080 Carbon Fiber vinyl for the interior trim. Hopefully getting the new wheels and tires mounted this weekend.
