Neither, stock speakers are sufficient.

The stock headunit can't power them, that's the problem. A 50x4w preamp from an aftermarket is enough to make a world of difference.

When faced with the decision between crap and crap I usually go with nothing.

There's better options out there that's not that costly. Pioneer, infinity, Polk. Look around, I'm sure you'll catch a deal

I've just changed my head unit today that's why I'm looking for some speakers but not looking to spend 2 much as I already learned my lesson with insurance and after market parts

It depends on what model the speakers are. I've never heard of Audiopipe, so I'd lean towards the Rockford Fosgate. What's your budget? What model?

A new head unit will make some difference, but not a ton.

Stiggles, did your car come with a factory amplifier?

My budget on speakers would be about $250 to $300 that would be for alllow speakers

All US cars have amplifiers on the driver side of the trunk, HK or not. The Polk MM series of speakers is a really nice set in your range. Also you might want to look into the Hybrid Audio Imagines and DLS RM6.2 (they are a tight fit).

I was asking Stiggles about the amp because he lives in Canada.

We do offer plug and play speaker pairs for your vehicle that will drop in and save you having to make custom brackets or modifying the wiring. If your car was ever hit the factory speakers would drop right back in

If you're budget is 250-300 look into B&C speakers...but if the only options are Rockford fosgate or audiopipe for door speakers i would opt for the audiopipes

Idk about fuses on each speaker I don't think so, if you can try each speaker individually I would do that but I installed a new headunit and I have sound streams in my deck and stock speakers in the doors that I'm going to be swapping for o2's 5 1/4 and B&C 12's...whatever you do get neodymium magnet speakers it'll make your life easier installing

I like them over all other 6.5 speakers in that price point like audiopipe, sound stream, celestion, thunder and what not...then there are other better brands than o2 but at a higher price point of course

I had audiopipes before they sound great but they don't make a 5 1/4 so I think I'm gonna go with o2s in the front and audio pipes in the back I guess what are you gonna go with for your 3.75 or 4 whatever size they are in the front door above the 5 1/4
