Good ole L Street beach, always an interesting crowd there, lots of hot chicks mixed in with the local trash.

Leg day yesterday, back squats felt great, 225 was light and I felt really good at 245.

My lower back started to tighten up on me though, happened for the first time while running on Monday. I did go heavy on DLs last Friday which may be contributing to it.

I didn't just start lifting, I've been lifting on and off for years just started to take it seriously over the past few months though.

Been going to the gym pretty consistently since last October with a couple weeks off because of my ankle.

Well it's the weekend before the tough mudder, the reason I started this thread, and while I haven't seen many improvements in my appearance over the past few weeks (to be honest my diet has been kind of crappy) I have continued to see strength gains and I think I have made some pretty significant progress since this all started.

Bench is at 275 (just started doing multiple rep sets of 245)
Squat is at 285 (making progress every week as I had neglected legs and broke my ankle, hope to see this continue to increase)
Deadlift is at 385 (just started this lift a couple months ago, still working on form)
Overhead press 165x2 (last set this past week)

When it all started (Fatso the Clown)

I've said this a few times but once that mid section fat is gone you're going to look pretty good. AKA not someone I'd like to get in a brawl with lol

Yeah, been tough to make progress over the summer, plus I have a 2.5 week vacation coming up which isn't going to help, but I am slowly making gains.

Oh I know, a buddy got ripped for his wedding, went to Hawaii for two weeks on his honeymoon and came back a fat slob. I'll try to work out while I'm off but I'll be traveling around, so we will see what happens.

I should be pretty active though, kayaking, swimming etc. I'll at least try to get some running in.

What's going to kill me is Five Guys, going to visit a buddy that owns one.

Headed down to the Outer Banks in NC for at least a few days, maybe a week, them most likely just spending time with my family as I don't see them that often. My parents live near the beach in Southern NJ right outside of Ocean City.

Your buddy went from being ripped to fat slob in two weeks?

Is it being hyper sensitive to carb? Esp if one were going super low carb before?

Pretty much, from the week before his wedding until after his honeymoon, about 3.5 weeks actually, he went from having visible abs to a gut, then again he drank himself into a blackout for something like 23 straight days.
