^ You look pretty good. I weighed 210 at one point and now at 160, my skin has been quite forgiving. I'm 5'8'' as well.

About the hairy chest, just shave it man. I resisted doing that myself for years and now can't imagine being hairy again. Got one of these, and it makes the job pretty easy:

I've been down the shaved chest route, I trim it (which it needs) will probably never shave it again. I could care less I'm old and have been like this a long time.

Ideally I think I would like to get down to 185lbs, but I am not setting any weight goals as of now. Just want to get in better shape.

Old? You don't look a day older than 36, right?

I meant to say trim it, that thing makes it close enough.

Man you have a solid build. If you fix your diet you'll be in good shape. Keep working out.

It's funny you're 33 and you say you're old. I'm 32 and feel very young. It's all about attitude. Stop hanging out with married friends. They'll make you feel old. If you're married, then you're old by definition. lol

Honestly I don't feel old or think I'm old at all, it was more of a sarcastic comment.

And you are 32? No offense, but from your posts I assumed you were some college kid.

I was being sarcastic as well. Heck I'm 36 (this Saturday), and don't feel like I'm old at all!

Today was an exploratory/leg day, figured I'd give squats a try but considering my ankle and the fact I did dead lifts yesterday I took it easy, also tried front squats for the first time with just the bar. The toughest part of the squats was that my chest and shoulders were so sore.

Also what's everyone's opinion on eliminating a day dedicated to bi's and tri's, I feel like I kind of slack off on those days as they are boring as ****.

Squats
10x95
10x115
10x135
8x155

Calf raises
Just 3 sets, more as rehad for my ankle than anything

Front squats
4 sets of ten with just the bar

20 minutes on the elliptical

Me, along with a few other guys, aren't big fans of days dedicated to arms. It's a wasted day in my opinion. You can mix in bicep/tricep workouts on other days.

For you a bi/tri day does not make sense. If you have an extra day you can do some HIT training and some dips/Pushups/pullups.

I do arms every once in a while when I'm bored at home. I would rather go workout instead of sitting at home and watch TV.

Yeah that's my plan, I did a few sets of barbell curls today because I felt like I didn't do enough other stuff.

Not a fan of arm exercises or most isolation exercises in general. Chin-ups, and any other compound pulling movement for biceps, push-ups, bench etc and any other pushing movement for triceps.

I'm going to do a test Friday... I have my numbers from november, the last time i did a biceps curl or tricep extension, I want to see if I got stronger without them

Good luck Brian! I haven't been able to get in a routine since Feb '12, but my wife's schedule is changing next week, so I'll finally be able to get back into it. I will definitely be checking in on this thread to see how you're doing and perhaps glean some motivation from your progress.

Got another question, I am basically going to do a 4 day workout, chest, legs, shoulders, and back. Would you guys recommend doubling up in weeks that I get in the gym more than 4 days? For instance if I get there today, this will be my fifth day at the gym this week and my second chest workout.

I may work a high intensity cardio day in but not until my ankle is 100%.
