Get some grippy tires and new brake pads and rotors. Being loose all the time will REALLY workout the DSC on these cars and that means accelerated break wear. Also you know to turn DSC "off" right?

^ DSC while "off" on the Xi is still working. It still works to transfer power to wheels that are not slipping from those that are, it just won't correct for your bad driving so only the stability control portion is turned off.

Just wrapped my second RallyX in my 01 325xi and came across this, anyone else doing it in the dirt? P.S. you can disable DSC, and ABS pretty easily by pulling a handful of fuses

Go for it. It's not the most performant AWD system out there, but it can certainly handle some fun in the dirt. I don't track mine or anything but I do beat on it pretty good, breaking the tires loose around corners, blasting down dirt roads, and getting sideways in the snow and ice. It's a lot of fun out on a frozen lake. I catch air with it every chance I get, too - there's a particular intersection near me that enables it at speed. I've gotten a full second of hangtime before.
