HID issue - HELP! I'm stumped

Hey everyone,

I've had HID fog lights with DDM ballasts for about two years while without any issues. The kit is 35W WITH an accessory harness wired to the battery.

Starting about two months ago I started noticing my high beam indicator in the dash flash once really quickly upon initial start-up of the HID fogs. This drew my attention because this is a common issue for people who install HID kits WITHOUT a harness (Yes, I searched). I have a harness, however, and it is wired correctly. Additionally, this only occurs when I first turn on the fog lights. If I let the bulbs warm up, then turn them off, and then turn them back on I do NOT have this issue.

I have attempted to troubleshoot this problem by checking the harness as well as switching out the ballasts completely. Even with the replacement kit, I still get the flashing high beam indicator upon initial startup.

What could this problem be? Could it be my LCM? (I don't think so because I have had the harness since I first installed the HIDs, therefore damaging it is unlikely)

Any suggestions are appreciated.

Note: Please do not comment regarding my decision to install an HID kit in stock halogen bulb housing. It is a personal decision that is not relevant to the problem I am having. Thank you.

Sillieidiot, you mentioned a diode in a previous post from a few years ago. Can you elaborate on that??
