New member needs advice please

Hi,

I own a 2001 model BMW 318i. 4door saloon. Chassis No. FX 48678.

I live in Cyprus but I am moving back to the UK in July.

My car is already RHD and is Eu spec except that the instrument cluster shows speed in KPH not MPH.

I know that the electronics can be reset to show Miles covered etc. But do I need to buy a complete instrument cluster to change the dial to MPH or can I get cluster fronts that show MPH etc?

Also, is it an easy job to do this conversion?

Any assistance gratefully received. thanks
Howard

Hi HinUk, there is just dial kits certainly on eBay but cant confirm if they any good, and you can check if it fits your vehicle! As for the conversion have never done it so can't say easy or not, there is a lot of DIY threads on the forum you may find something helpful there.

E46 speedo etc

Hi,

Thank you for the reply.

I did in fact find a "sheet of dials" (BMW part) available from a company in South Wales. Then, as you so rightly said, I went to U tube. Re remove/refit and it is easy.

The car is going into my friendly non BMW but motorsport related garage over here as they can amend the electronics to read MPH instead of KM. So they are doing the swap for me. In their words, Easy Peasy!!!.
