Yes. He thought he was getting a Ferrari, as did his family when his grandpa passed. Ended up being a Fiero.

Thanks obama grandpa...

Also, you have to be one broke/stupid motherfvcker to not be able to afford a 1980 Ferrari and build a replica.

I'm no expert on Ferraris but the character lines on the hood and nose panel seem to be absent in the real one.

Just trying to spot the differences here, not taking sides.

It's a good replica, but it's not a real Ferrari.

In the case of the ones with good body work, you can often sniff out the fakes by looking at the A-pillar, windshield and side windows. Replica kits generally don't replace or cover up those parts.

Look at the rake of the windshield and see the wing window in the front triangle of the side window:

Compare the glass, A-pillar and side glass. Also see the gas filler door location on the two cars, which is not evident on the real Ferrari pictured above.

Yup. Other giveaways are the poor location of the badge on the front fender and the horrible glass vent on the roof. I don't think the 308 ever had those from the factory.

don't all the replicas stand out when you hear the engine/exhaust?

LOL! Post a pic of a 30+ year old classic sports car (which is probably older than most of the posters here) on a BMW forum, and wala...all the armchair "Ferrari experts" appear.

You guys are funny. Full of it, but still funny.

Dude. Look at the pictures and compare. It doesn't take an expert to figure it out.
