what's next? Yell "Ninja, VANISH!" and throw an eraser on the ground to create a distracting cloud of chalk dust so you can run away?

Love the sound effects he made when demonstrating how to knock the gun out if the perps hand.

I'm truly not interested until they release a black board assault version.

No, they will be bolted to the wall, and obviously, not helping anyone. I'd love to see a full size board be used for actual defense. I feel bad for the cop in the video...he has to stand there and spout this BS...I truly hope these guys don't actually buy the crap they are sellin.

You know, A full sized board with a steel frame on HD henges would be a geat way to cover a door fast.

Alarm sounds, slam the door covers shut...

I mean, its not the worst idea I've ever heard of...not exactly the best either.

That being said, can it really hurt? I mean, it could give the teacher some chance of distracting a shooter for a limited period of time for others to act or for the teacher themselves to act. I'm sure that the ones at VA tech, etc. might have liked to have this as a last resort.

My question is how effective is it? What can it stop? A 9mm? A .40/.45? What about a 5.56? I doubt the last one.

The other question I have is what is the cost? That little board is probably like $5000 or something ridiculous.

You mean have the board on an articulated mount (like a plasma TV) swing out and block the door? Wouldn't it be FAR easier to just have prison style iron doors with a panic lock? Seems like a ridiculously complicated solution to a problem that shouldn't even exist. Having panic locks coupled with an armed guard will slow any baddie down enough for the teachers to secure their classroom.
