HID help

so i ordered a set of p46's with orion V2 angel eyes, FXR projectors (bi-xenon), 55W D2S 5000k HID kit (low beam) from umnitza (as well as a H7 35W 5000k HID kit for inner reflector high beam and a 9006 35W 5000k HID kit fog light). i selected this option called pre-install so everything should have been plug and play (apart from the halos)

the package came in a timely manner. wrong globes were sent but that is in the process of being recitifed. everything has been good so far.

i installed the p46's today. did an initial test with the car off and everything worked fine. when i switch the car on the low beam would cut out after say 10s but high beam (reflector) and indicator still work

the HID's also flash as seen in the video. the lights deffinitley work.i think my car needs to be coded to accept the xenons and for the bixenon shutter to work.

im just confised as before these headlights i had 35W HID's in the low and high beam OEM housing (from jason) and they worked find (but an autoelectrician installed those so maybe he coded the car?)

any help would be appreciated

heres the link to the youtube clip. please watch it and advise

PS id like to say i will order with umnitza again. it has been a pleasant experience so far. theyve had great communication and have stuck to their word.

Needs coding.

Bixenon shutter you will need to wire in (splice into the high beam wire).

Some ballasts work, some respond to the checks in the manner that yours do.

Aaron, the lights look good. Please email us if you need any further support, we'll be happy to help.

To answer some of your questions, the bixenon shutter should already be spliced into the high beams for you.
The tech that installed them, make sure he keeps the headlights in Halogen mode if possible - one other thing to try is if he had the xenons in the car prior to this, see if those ballasts work (they should connect up as well) if they do, we'll have to figure out why and work with you on that.

For the angel eyes - it's very very easy - www.fastm.com - just follow the step by step guide (but in RHD format).

Why did umnitza sell you a product that requires coding? There are plenty of ballasts out there that don't require this. Good luck nonetheless.

Re: HID help

It's the ballasts.... Or the coding, depending on which way you want to look at it. Some ballasts have error cancelling features, others don't. Unless umnitza has other information?

I prefer to have the correct coding than a bandaid fix with the ballasts.

Jall, please provide detailed info on what coding needs to be done and what equipment is required to do it so I can ask the auto electricians specifically what they need to do.

Re: HID help

I can send you my gear up if you have a windows laptop and want to do it yourself and I'll walk you through it? Or you can buy your own if you can wait. Pm me.

Also, Steve.k (?) had the same adaptor I do so would have the ability to code it as well. Weren't you two mates?

turns out it was the 55W ballast causing my problem. put a set of 35W ballasts from ED I had in and the lights are fine.
