Took my wife to the range for the first time - Good News & Bad News...

Good News: Looks like I found an excuse to buy more guns...

Bad News: Looks like I'll be burning twice the amount of ammo....

She started with the 10/22 I got her for Christmas, then moved to my AR-15. She didn't like the AR-15 as much, but after some thought - she wants to try it again next time. It just caught her by surprise going from no recoil to "some" recoil... lol. She also shot a .380 pistol... needs a little time to learn there...

Funny part was.... when she started shooting my AR-15 - half the guys at the range stopped shooting to watch. It was pretty funny... She didn't realize she had an audience till she stopped shooting.

Here's the video:

My friends give me some guff for teaching my wife to shoot, saying it not a very good idea if she ever gets mad enough....

Anyhoo... how is the .380? I was kind of thinking of getting my wife the Ruger LCP380. I can't get her to shoot my 1911.

We got the LC380 (next size up from the LCP380 - the LCP's just felt too small to me). I like it... my only complaint on it at all is the long trigger pull. Not a big deal, but I really notice the difference going between my Walther & the Ruger...

Nice. I got the same reaction when I took my girl shooting, the guys on the bench next to us almost pissed them selves when she shot a 12g for the first time.

I'm not pushing for her to shoot my 12g's yet... all mine are sluggers... and I shoot the high velocity slugs (XP3's or SST's) - I don't even like shooting these guns unless I'm shooting at a tasty dinner....

I've got either my A-Bolt 12g or my Ithaca Deerslayer - both beat up my shoulder pretty good. I can't shoot much beyond a box of shells in a single sitting.

Today's disappointment - I went shooting, wife declined (boat-loads of homework) - range was absolutely empty. Would have been a perfect time to take her again...

Nope, the real reason you were sad is because now you can't mark off in the book that you guys did it at a gun range.

Sent from Heaven.
