3% here all the way around, 50% on the windshield with a 3% strip on top, and I love it. yeah its way dark at night, but hey...that's what I wanted.
My truck in the background has 5% on it all the way around also, but nothing on the windshield

ideally 20% is the best imo, dark enough to pick your nose in private and light enough to comfortably look out from the inside. for your case 35% all around so the car isn't completely illegal (just your two fronts) and 50% windshield to discretely darken it up a little more. no strip

but depending on where you live, go with what the law says. I live in south florida, where nobody gets pulled over just for tint lol

35% in front & 20% in the back.

20% all the way around.

Unless tint is a primary offensive to get pulled over for, go lower then 35% but no lower than 20%. If you are thinking about not getting the same tint all the way around don't tint your car it will look like crap in my opinion.

IMO 35% all around would look perfect! Having anything darker would make your car just look ALL black. Black exterior with lighter windows would make it stand out. Just my opinion! I have 35% all around on my titanium silver but thinking of taking the tint off and/or going 50% all around.

planning on 30% or 35% all around on my car... 35% is limit in Illinois but the brand I'm interested in (Geo Shield Dark Matter Ceramic) doesn't seem to offer 35%, 40 yes, 30 yes, 35 no.

I had 15 on my last car, night time visibility was terrible, I don't recommend it, its not safe.

35 is good enough that people cannot see in my car during the day unless they stare in, or at night period.

Also dont go uneven tint, all around same tint percentage.

I wouldn't get any tint whatsoever. If you have to, get the absolute lightest possible. Tint should mainly be done for function (keep heat down) and not for gangsta looks!

+1 I wouldn't even get tint if I still lived in Northern California.

I just think it makes a car look fresh and clean. People always ask or comment UR CAR LOOKS SO CLEAN! Y?!

Largely because I don't have tint. It adds to the overall "pure" look that makes a BMW stand out.

I do agree that the no tint look is great... but it also looks good tinted.. to me atleast. I prefer coupes untinted, and sedans tinted. dunno why

Tint is for protection from the sun and prying eyes.
Go for a good quality tint and not for the %.

Again, I have 20% 3M on mine with lifetime warranty. And it keeps my car cool in those hot summer days. Yes Colorado does get 100 degrees hot days in summer.

No tint does protect against UV rays which can damage your skin if you go on long drives like I do.
