My cars being shy! & acting funky Help!!!!

She'll get plugged up to a scanner
But I can't pull any codes
It's as if it's not even on.
My cluster is completely dead!
I've been to pep boys/autozone to have them
Scan it for me but nothing.
Even my mechanic at an Indy shop told me
To take it to BMW.

First off everything went haywire aftermy alternator went bad.
Since its been replaced with the exact same alternator(brand new)
She's been freaking out on me. I'm getting a rough idle ifnI don't rev
Up the rpm she'll die out then I'll have to wait about 4 seconds
And it'll fire back up.

1st my cluster. Lights works gauges work but if cars off the needles freez in current position, if I start car they'll seize at the bottom then they move.
No green fog light, blue high beam light. Display that shows mileage I can see that but trip resets itself every time I turn off/on car. The place that usually holds time, mph, mpg ect reads ----- I can set the time but it won't keep once I power off/on vehicle.

Also with my SES light being on, I cannot pass smog! I'm noticing globs of grey smoke sometimes when I'm taking off. It's embarrassing. Plus I'm getting fix it tickets because of my reg not being up to date. & DMV notices. I'd like to fix that 1st before anything else.

She's my daily driver, I drive about 120 miles (60 there 60 back) a day to work she gets me to & from with no problem at all! But I have no idea what can be wrong.

What do you guys think I should do? Have a remedy?
