I actually am happy to see him stand up for himself.
I hate forums due to people bad mouthing each other rather than trying to be helpful.
As an HPF owner I am nervous, saddened and just overall lost.

Try to stay positive people - that is all we can do.

They don't own it, 99% of the **** sounds like it was vendor products and already purchased parts. And if you read back sounds like Chris loaded up a bunch of **** in a uhaul and dipped... Derek and kirk are now trying to sort out the mess of whats leftover.

Add in a 28% increase in rent, higher insurance rates because of the theft, higher processing fees because of the theft, it added up to a perfect storm. Shop car expenditures are 100% tax write off, plus $.45 per mile to promote it. I invested a lot of money that I have lost now, it was not from a management error. It was a combination of very specific events that caused this. Shitty day for a lot of people, mostly for the staff. Not trying to flame anyone, just upset like everyone else. End of an era of high horsepower e46 M3's!
HPF products are just amazing. The quality and attention to detail is without peer. I am shattered to be reading this... Respect to Chris, John, Kirk and the rest of the crew for developing excellent parts - I am hopeful it will come good!

Re: HPF out of Business?

I don't know anything however, if vivid racing bought anything it would be their domain name given the amount of traffic it generates and vivid being one of the biggest internet vendors. Just my 2 cents

Vivid honestly has some of the best prices anywhere. Try finding recaro sportster cs seats anywhere cheaper. I think they are going to price the hpf kit @10k

Probably a lot less than that considering the E46 M3 is 2 generations back. Probably should be in the $5000-$6000 range.

The "tuner kits" they're advertising don't have half the parts that the full kit has. If you want the same kit that the existing HPF cars have, I can't see it for any less than $10k.

Why? Vivid racing didnt invest in the R&D for the kits. Thus anything above the cost of parts (which a company that size gets major deals on) is all profit. Turbo kits are far from complicated. Just because there's an M badge on the car doesn't justify a price gouge.

For example. Turbo kits for the NSX were in the 10k range for a long time. Until a forum member pieced his own kit together and gained so much interest he started selling them. His kits were half the price and quality was no different than the kits already on the market.

If vivid was smart and wanted to exploit their new investment they should unload massive quantity with a reduced price as before. Also hav to consider the "extras" people tend to buy from the same company as supporting mods.
