Shouldn't have been speeding bro. Its not a race. This kinda stuff gives the BMW crowd a bad name.

There is a time and place to have your fun but not the whole time. We have all been there at one time though.

The FCC only controls radio frequencies (radar), but laser jammers are still legal in most places because it's light. If you get a V1 and a laser jammer you should be ok in most situations....

relax. No one here can say they always stay under the speed limit. I easily hit 93mph in my M3 many times when I'm on the freeway, not because I'm "racing" someone, but because I LOVE and ENJOY my car

Just cause you get a speeding ticket, doesn't mean you're giving BMW a "bad name." relax

wait till you see the price of a "low end" laser jammer set... cha CHING! I definitely want to get one as well -- but I haven't convinced myself yet that the ROI is worth it.. For now I have a V1 and PPL (Pre-Paid Legal, $16/mo)

You can get a decent one for under a grand. That's 2-3 tickets depending on where you get caught.

under a grand, as in $950? The cheapest I usually see them go for is about $1k.. I haven't looked into it recently though.

My only ticket in the last two or 3 years was by laser, . I saw him RIGHT as my V1 went off.

You can get a Laser Interceptor for 550-850, depending on what you need. I wonder if there's already a DIY on the site to install these....

True, but I am doubtful of the benefit of laser jammers. The scientific principles involved make it unlikely to be very effective. Most of the random websites I've found say that laser jammers are a waste of money.

If anyone can point me to some legitimate research showing their effectiveness, I'd greatly appreciate it. Even if the laser jammer works, most cops nowadays use guns that shoot both radar and laser. A detector doesn't help at all because by the time a detector knows you're being targeted, the cop already knows how fast you were going. And again, radar scramblers are highly illegal.
