Senna was in F1 for 9 or 10 years.

Not only that, but the documentary itself had many F1 drivers name Senna as the best. I think they are probably better qualified than the rest of us.

I think he still holds the record for wins at Monaco (6 wins).

If you look at Mclaren's website, they just posted a dedication to him.

I don't think anyone else is still getting that much respect, that long after their death.
The reason why Senna has a documentary is because he had an interesting story to captivate people with. His origins, his faith, his conflict with the politics of the sport and Prost lastly his death being the last one in formula one.

What story would they tell or Kimi, Alonso, or Schumacher if they did one on them? Nothing nearly as exciting, hell Kimi's would span about 5 minutes 2 of which are him sleeping, one is him driving and winning with the last two being the credits and him yelling "I know how to do my job" but you get my point.

As much as I like Rossi has he even competed in anything else but moto GP? Or just anything outside of two wheels? I know he does some of the dirt stuff in the off season but that's about it as far as I know.

Richard Petty won 200 races in his career and placed FIRST 27 TIMES in one year.

And this is in a sport where you are lucky to finish first one time in one year.

He has to be in the top ten list.

John Force is the number the number one Funny Car driver of all time. No one comes close to him. He was national champion 15 times.
And he raced until he was 61. He has to be under consideration as well. I realize Funny Car races don't last as long as F1 and NASCAR races, but then they don't accelearate from 0-100 mph in 1 second either.

Walter Röhrl is regarded by most people as the greatest rally driver of all time. Everything that he accomplished is shrouded in near-myth level legends. He started his racing career as a chaufer. Upon competing in the WRC he took an outdated RWD Opel and flogged Audi's all-mighty space age quattro (which was an entirely new and revolutionary tech at the time) and beat them on their own terms.

You may have seen the youtube video of a faceless driver taking a yellow RUF Porsche 911 and flogging it at devastating speeds around the Nürburgring. If you haven't then stop whatever you are doing and look up "Porsche RUF Yellowbird" right now. The driver in these videos is Walter Rohrl and to this day the lap times he set way back in the 80's are considered suicidal. Its astounding that more people aren't mentioning him in this thread.

Stuck & Rohrl teamed up numerous times - most notably in the quattro audis that ruled all back in the 80's/90's.

You're right. Was that still during the Group B era or after?

Both iirc. They did the Trans Am series or IMSA together for years. I think they ran LeMans together, too.

In the 70's and 80's ( maybe 90's) there was a series called the IROC series (International Race Of Champions) and i remember AJ Foyte always being in the top 3 no matter what kind of track. The whole idea is to put the drivers in equally prepared cars to see who was the best. Wish this would return.
