Poll: Chris Brown Headlight Mod -- OK or NOT OK?

Take a can of spray paint to factory OE headlight bowls: YAY OR NAY?

Choose one or the other.

Did you seriously start a vote for this? That's pretty mature.

It is acceptable, though I won't be doing it to my car. I like my lights the way they are.

I want to get an idea who and how many are actually behind this mod. It's a topic that isn't discussed much. Lets get it out into the open.

I won't do it to my car. It does not look clean. However, I do NOT care what other people do with theirs considering they purchased their own car.

Also, this is phrased poorly. This is referring to translucently painted high beam bowls. I would never suggest painting your main bowls or smoking the lenses.

Can't vote on BimmerApp.

I am not a fan of this look, but that's why its called a personal preference.

Count me in for a NO.

For those who don't know here is what the poll is for:

Especially bad when it's done on a halogen lowbeam (primary light source)

That's not what was up for debate in the other thread.

When I hear Chris Brown Mod... I think of Black Reflector Bowls which is a "tongue in cheek"reference to a "Black Eye" in other car clubs its called "Rhianna'd Out" headlights

I guess the blue, and yellow reflector bowls are lumped into this title.

Ehhhhh I am seriously considering this but I feel like if I do it I'm doing it black or I'm doing yellow over the whole light like a racecar. Lol. My car looks just like yours. I didn't know that haha.

Maybe I should rephrase:

Take a can of spray paint to factory OE headlight bowls: YAY OR NAY?

You act like its paint the entire headlight or nothing. I voted yes for the inner bowl assuming bi-xenons.....Painting the whole housing. No

Personally, I like it, but only in Yellow. The PAINTED ones are rather stupid, but if you're making a tint from say, a translucent /stained glass paint, I don't think much is too wrong with that. I've noticed a few new cars start doing that. Don't quote me on that though.

IMO (and the way i did it) the correct way is to use stained glass paint.

factory headlights originally retailed $1,500 each (possibly more) not sure why anyone would ruin them by painting the precious chromed finish. In order to achieve maximum light output and performance, the finish must reflect as much light as possible. that output goes down once the bowls or bulbs are tinted. why would you want anything less but the brightest best performing lights?
