Found this on another forums for the lights on unlock JIM hope it helps ? ive got ccfl eyes fitted and they look fine but this post says its not compatible so im thinking of a use for the empty holes and bulbs to fade in and out on unlock, be handy with the darker nights on inevitable horizon?

I did a few searches but not finding anything worth looking at. Mainly people talking about their lights but none showing how they did it.

Have you ever wired a light switch in the house or shed? I would think the principle would be the same for wiring the LEDs to the same circuit as the cabin lights. (im just taking a guess here really)

Re: 318 Owners - Get In Here!!!

With ccfl lights it won't be possible it would be like trying to use a dimmer switch at home on a florescent tube, led bulbs will be the same I've tried led on the interior lights and the fade up and down was naff so I bought normal glass t10 bulbs and its great, the voltage of the ccfl ballast only works within a certain voltage range so you loose the effect

Left a mighty nice scar! in the shape of a boomerang.

Yeah, car is definitly on the mend too.. 2 more new tyres going on it on Wednesday and either shocks or wishbones then next week.
Taking her for a 200 mile run on Wednesday to Dublin and back, a long awaited drive indeed!

Took the car to Dublin yesterday... cruising at about 90mph down the motorway, she got me there and back without any bother at all.. although, i think I might get the A/c recharged, could have done with a little cooler air with this Indian summer we seem to have lol

Hi Jim, I've got the same problem with the tappety noise, while it's idling it's nice and quiet, but while I'm driving I can actually hear the tapping. I was thinking of flushing the engine but I've no idea what stuff to use. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

James

Hi James you can get a good engine flush from halfords you just run the engine for 15 mins at 3000 rpm then drain. Make sure you replace with good oil tho, the tappy noise is a build up of carbon around the tappets. Hope you get it sorted mate

Hey Guys how's things? Not been around for a while as had lots to do with wife due in a few days (if on time).

Jim & James I had same issue and used "Wynn's Tappet Cleaner" from Halfords. DO NOTUSE when car is hot though as it just burns it up!! I ran mine till it hit 35c turned off then poured it in with the oil then went for a spin and since then no noise at all, I have not had to change oil to do it either or any flushing.

Re: 318 Owners - Get In Here!!!

Got wishbones ordered today.. so hopefully have them on the car this weekend.

My radiator leak is back.. so think im gonna be ordering a new one for next week.

Gave the engine a bit of a decreasing today. So if there is an oil leak I should have a better chance at finding it now.
