What are some of the things you enjoy most about your job?

Curious to see what others enjoy with their jobs. Maybe dislikes as well if you're feeling up to it.

For me:
-Private corporation
-Competitive salary
-Flexible hours/days (pretty much come and go as I need to with personal matters outside of work)
-Christmas bonus
-Yearly bonus
-Yearly performance reviews with salary increase
-Colleagues that are helpful and don't withold information
-30-35% travel (I keep the rewards points for airline, rental cars, and hotels)
-401k matching
-HSA matching
-HSA bonus contributions for staying healthy
-Gym onsite
-Focus on developing individuals and finding the career plan that interests the associate
-Seeing my products out in the marketplace and in the hands of consumers
-Conducting studies and internal research
-Encouragement and push to attend seminars, classes, and higher education
-Reimbursement of partial or all of the costs associated with MBA/Masters degree
-Diverse background of people and degrees

Inb4 Lair declares corporations are evil.

Both. I'm a Regional Financial Planner for the wealth management area of a bank. Specifically in the high net worth and ultra high net worth spaces. I'm currently on the hunt to move up to a portfolio manager.

Next to none? The social media sites get targeted the most.

What's a portfolio manager? Had limited exposure to finance except a roommate who studied personal financial planning.

In my line of work it would be the point person who is directly in charge of managing our clients investments. They are managing asset allocation, making trades, doing research, etc. Once I move to that I would be managing in the neighborhood of $500-750 million which is a bit scary when I really think about it.

How's your cafeteria? Is the selection pretty decent? Some of the cafeterias I have seen are comparable to food I was served in high school which was not so healthy and not the best tasting food out there.

Welllllll....They have a salad bar which I frequent, and Premade sandwiches (which can be good) But I'm a picky eater (I eat kind of "Kosher") so club sandwiches are a no-no. But my normal routine is grabbing a bottle of OJ and a Fruit/fruit cup/Yogurt for breakfast. For lunch, they always do something different - it's usually pretty good, but there is always Pizza, salad bar, or Boar's Head sandwiches (made to order) as a backup.

Also, I give my company too little credit - they do try to take care of you, and have a good health care/dental/vison plan. They also have room for advancement, if you want to branch out, and do pay for education. It's actually a solid company all around.

Lunch. And the commute. The pay isn't bad either. Ohh and all the education/training is paid for.

Things I enjoy:
-freedom to come and go without punching a clock
-minimal manager involvement
-ability to make project decisions on my own and carry out the entire process (design, build, test, training, etc)
-dual monitors up in this
-no cubical
-window seat
-mostly friendly coworkers
-small company lets you get to know everyone

The pay could be better, and the location.
