Maybe. It was already on my mind before I stepped a foot outside of college.

Okay. You have your opinions and I have mine. The VP, directors, and managers of the division I work in have all been with the company 20+ years. I don't forsee them getting their "asses canned".

Usually does not go hand in hand but okay I'll keep that on the back of my mind. Like I mentioned in my OP, I'm working for a private corporation. It's a little safer I would imagine than working for a publicly traded corporation where the shareholders have say. That being said, when I worked with AB a few years ago, upper management within that company got canned when InBev took over.

Way too much bitterness and smugness in this thread.

To the people who are very happy at their gainful employment: I hope you guys are saving a bunch of money. Because unforeseen market forces can eliminate your value and your job in a few short years. And don't think putting away 15% in your 401k is enough.

That was a brutal take over job especially with such a concentration of upper management here in St. Louis.

I think a lot of us regulars here are wise enough to save and spread our money out.

Speaking of St. Louis, like I said, next time I'm out your way, I will be sure to hit you up. I would imagine I will be making a trip to Nestle Purina Corporate sometime in the next few months.

I'll say this. Nestle Purina is a good company/division to work for. The rest of Nestle...no comment.

I think you don't know what you're talking about. Otherwise people like evolved would be out of a job.

- 100% travel (with the associated loyalty perks)
- flexible work schedule (when not on a client site; a few weeks per year)
- inability to maintain a meaningful relationship due to all the travel = sex with no strings attached with work colleagues in hotels paid for by the company
