Ah yes, you're anecdotal experience is perfectly representative of every college experience in the 4,000+ colleges in the U.S...

p.s. the "average" college student isn't "from the hood" or "from wealthy families". They're from middle-class families that are neither "ghetto/redneck" or "wealthy" and they don't have "family connections" hooking them up with amazing opportunities in general.

Seems like it is mostly you and F2B getting rustled.

Harvard degree only gives you a lifetime annual return of 8%

This is what I would expect if I was to ever meet F2B. A living, walking cartoon character. (no f2b, I never want to meet you)

no the average college student is not from an "average" family.

the average median household income is about 45k in this country. and the average median family income of a college student is on average 60% higher then the american average.

https://newsroom.ucla.edu/portal/ucl...mily-7831.aspx

watch the Documentary "the house we live in"

basically a bunch of Harvard economists studied thousands of people from the day they were born until they were 25 years old. They are getting to the point where they can predict the outcome of any Americans life just by their parents address. By "predict" i mean, how much money you will make, how much time you wil spend in jail, where you will live, how many kids you will have, life expectancy, education etc. It is amazing.

Are you daft? 60% above the median household income puts those households squarely in the middle class as I said. IF you could read, you'd see that I said they were from "middle class" families. I didn't say they were from "median income" households. They're not "from the ghetto" or "from wealthy families" in general though, exactly as I said. Try to keep up...

It costs $218k to go, but has a 30 year return of $1.3M.

Not sure I see how the ROI "isn't there"?

Also there is no linear aspect to it... You could go to Harvard, start a company, travel the world, do charity work, retire, who knows. The statistic is pretty meaningless when you actually break it down. averages are... well... often somewhat meaningless. life is what you make of it.

I dunno, I hang out with a bunch of GaTech and VaTech people, as well as UGA folks.

The Technically trained people are all doing much better as chemists, chemical engineers, IE's, ME's, CE's, and programmers compared to the UGA business majors behind the bar.

Although there is this one guy who got a degree in turf grass management that is just balling the hell out of control.

Did you grow up in a middle class environment in the 'burbs?

I'm pretty sure all your ghetto centrism is self inflicted suburban ginger wigger talk. Ginger wiggers have to be such a rare breed. Are there more like you? Do they congregate in a special subforum of world start hip hop?
