The Detroit city government is weeks away from running out of the cash it needs to operate, according to an initial report from the emergency manager overseeing its finances.

Um..... build a huge fence around it and setup a real world "The Running Man"
competition.

Arnold can be the guest host. People pay in to fund the cash prizes, cleanup of dead bodies, etc.

I'd buy that for a dollar!

the GOP will fix Detroit. That's what the city manager is for.

But where would all the criminals go? I say we do the opposite and turn the whole city into a labor camp

My friends, I've had this dream for more than a decade now. A dream which I've invited you all to share with me. In six months we begin construction of Delta City where old detroit now stands. Old Detroit has a cancer, the cancer is crime...

Detroit's problem is no one lives there. The city council is elected every few years by degenerates that still live there and their selection of council members comes from a cesspool.

Detroit is similar that mentally ill family member who cannot care for themselves, so the family petitions the court to order him institutionalized, which in this case is a capable person who can actually run the books - Emergency Manager.

Detroit has not seen someone in city hall with the education level of the emergency manager since the GOP actually held office in Detroit some 50+ years ago.

exactly.

The city is corrupt with politicians lining their pockets and over paying contractors for city projects. The city can no longer afford basic services in a majority of the neighborhoods, calls to 911 go un answered, trash doesn't get picked up etc. Which makes people flee to the suburbs, which drives real esatte prices in the city down. The remaining people see their house is worth a few thousand at best and they stop paying property taxes, so now the city has no revenue and is even more screwed.

The biggest problem with Detroit is the size of the city. You can fit Boston, Manhattan, and San Francisco within Detroit and still have 40 square miles left over. Detroit is built for 2mil residents with only 800k currently living there. Everyone is so spread out that city services need to reach far and wide to fulfill the needs of the residents. But with only 800k in their tax base for a city built to hold 2million it is impossible to provide city services to everyone, which in turn makes a city unlivable. Imagine calling the fire dept because your house was on fire and they show up 4 hours later?

Perhaps some of the surrounding areas should consider annexing parts of Detroit.

The ones that did were smart enough to know to never come back.
