I just installed a ported Sense 5 ROM on my One X, and even though it's far from polished (this particular ROM, not Sense 5) I am very impressed with it, both its form and function.

Given the nominal difference in physical size of the One / One Mini, I don't see the appeal of the mini. I like being able to see everything clearly on my screen, but I guess other people want something a bit more compact. Every time I see an iPhone (any generation) I wonder how anyone can see anything on those tiny screens (yes, I know the 5 has a bigger screen). I'm not a fanboy, just comparing based on some quick observations.

Yes, I had it setup in less than 2 minutes. It is stupid proof. I could definitely do that as long as I know the service provider for the cable/satellite and the TV manufacturer.

I haven't tried that yet but I like the way you think.

Right.

The speed increase would speed up beaming large files, but that is minor. There are also range and efficiency improvements.

It also lists AWS support on T-mobile... It should support Verizon then. If Verizon they would hurry their ass up and launch it we would know for sure. It's getting ridiculous with how slow they are at everything they do.

But I guess 2 of my main concerns about it are now gone the button placement is still dumb though.

I'd give Sense 5 a chance. It's really pretty nice.

You had an iPhone, right? Of all the android skins, I do think sense works best. I like the menu animation when you pull too far among other things. HTC used to include an awesome pull down setting toggle menu, shame they pulled it. Hopefully 4.2.2 includes it somehow.

What cases are you guys using on your HTC One?
I bought a Poetic Atmosphere (cheapo off of Amazon) and mine has chosen to self destruct within 2 months. My wife's is holding up fine though.

Other suggestions are welcome since I don't want to buy a new case every few months.

I love the way the phone looks so I didnt want to put a big ugly case on it. I ended getting this clear case from Amazon, it looks great.

I have a UAG case for my S3, really love it. They make one for the HTC one...that's what I would be getting if I were you guys.

Kind of an update, last week my microphone stopped working all of a sudden. I read somewhere that it happened to a couple people and it was due to an update but I am not certain.

When I called, people only hear static or my voice extremely faint (in a super quiet environment) but when I put the phone in speaker mode they could hear me just fine, but now they were on speaker and everyone hear my convos :| haha. Also when recording videos, nothing was picked up.

Called HTC to get it resolved but they told me gotta send it in blah blah blah, but my buddy told me to take it to ATT (my carrier) device support center since it was past the 14 day bought period.

Went in and they checked it for any kind of damage, didnt find any, walked out with a new one 20 mins later lol.

Just posting to see if anyone else has had this trouble.

I haven't had that issue. The only issue I've had is that people can't always hear me when I'm taking calls in my basement....but that isn't a handset issue. Glad they treated you well.

Thanks for the case ideas...I'm looking at some of these.

I picked one of these up about a month ago, had an iPhone5, and an iPhone4 prior to that.

Although Android takes some getting used to (the popup SMS messages is a good example), I far prefer this phone. The performance is amazing. The display quality is stunning, and the speakers are actually usable. Battery life is actually better than I could ever hope for with my iPhone5 too.

Would love to root it, and put the stock Android on it, as I've disabled the Sense interface.

I'd highly recommend this case. Had it on my nexus for years and it saved my screen/phone so many times, even when it fell screen first. My friend got it for his HTC one and likes it as well.
