It's honestly gotten to the point where I question just about anything he says. Like Benghazi, there have just been lie after lie around this.

That implies there was once a point where you didn't question everything he had to say. That seems intellectually dishonest on your part.

Incorrect.

There was once a time where I questioned the logic of what he claimed. I've come to the point though that I question the honesty of everything he says... Especially when he pounds his finger on a podium or says "let me be clear".

Yes a diversion from Benghazi because after months of hype they have yet to find anything scandal worthy. All they have is semantics (act of terror vs. terror attack). The Republicans need this diversion.

Yes, like Obama said, the logic of the Benghazi "cover up" was to cover up for three days... Makes sense.

"Who executes some sort of cover-up or effort to tamp things down for three days?"

All of this -- Benghazi and IRS -- is a cover-up by the GOP for their utter lack of any policies, programs or initiatives that are even remotely popular, not to mention their own dismal public perception and lack of popularity, especially amongst future voter demographics.

This can all be properly seen, in lieu of anything positive or popular, as merely an extension of the Party of No's main tactics of obstructionism and destruction when it comes to the current administration. This same instinct -- politics as blood sport and going all foamy at the mouth at the merest sniff of blood in the water -- during the attempted Clinton impeachment in the '90's, an effort that ultimately backfired on them (Clinton was not impeached and the GOP popularity took a well-deserved hit).

Again though, lacking anything truly positive to offer the electorate -- their biggest initiative now being painful (for the 99% at least) austerity and deprivation that's worked oh-so-not-well in Europe -- they are resigned simply to amping up their guerilla sniping another few notches, inflating relatively pedestrian kerfuffles and bureaucratic bumbling to Watergate rhetorical proportions.

It's not that there's nothing here - there were real errors in both Benghazi and the IRS - but neither are there any real crimes or misdeeds that the GOP is so desperately trying to inflate these things into. It's all getting blown up vastly out of proportion to what's truly is there.

While the Dems perhaps ought to heartened that if this is all they (the GOP) got, they don't got much, this is all very distracting and draining of energy and resources that could be better devoted to far more pressing, important and productive efforts.

Now with deficits and debts decreasing at ever greater and unforeseen rates, and the economy slowly and steadily gaining depth and breadth, these two negative talking points are quickly losing traction for the GOP and leaving them standing there holding not much else to offer, much less anything positive, to John Q.Public.

So basically, expect more of this shrill demagoguery and scandal-mongering to continue as the GOP really doesn't have anything else in their portfolio to offer.
