Glight House Build Thread

We're running into snags too now. Found out the town planner gives the approval ...but to do so, have to fill land use permit out. They then have to approve plans/elevations....and then I have to pay (up front) my tap fees, some tax for firefighters, another for upkeep of a road, and the a tax imposed by the town for materials/land use....to the tune of ~30k.... And only then will I get the permit I need to attach to Submit to the bldg dept....

But how do I do that when the proposed lender is awaiting for approved plans which I can't get until I cough up money that I was intending to take from the construction loan!?!?!? Argh!!!!!

Had few comments to address on the permit application, but nothing major. Waiting on a few final things, but hope to break ground in September.

I would recommend a 4 car garage with tall ceiling for a lift.

Awesome. So it's going to be red brick? Looks much better than the siding, imo. My house is currently being built too, just not at this scale. Good luck!

Approved!

Permits issued!

Construction fencing up!

This pic was from a few days ago and the dead tree at the front and the rest in the building envelope were taken down yesterday.

Hoping to break ground tomorrow or Monday!

Curious what tree removal costs in different parts of the country. The huge dead tree that you can see at the front of the lot (80 ft tall and 38" diameter) and 5 40' spruce trees I had cut down for $3,100. How does that compare to prices in other people's areas?

Slab or footers for foundation? My dad is a home builder if you have any specific questions you want me to ask him.

Good deal, much sturdier and better for the value of the home.
