Dude, for sure. I'm sure I'll get pushed big time with all of that sh|t you do. My cardiovascular weaknesses will be exposed.

.....then I'll make you take my Capoeira class so I can expose yours.

In all seriousness, it actually really piques my curiosity how someone can.........for example, kick ass in a CF AMRAP, but they are winded and can't hang in a Capoeira class (...and vice versa). I guess cardiovascular development may be activity specific?!!?

^ it's all muscle memory. I know a guy who can run like crazy in soccer. I took him with me mountain biking and he was out of wind after the .5 miles.

Everything in human body is activity specific. That's why it's good to vary cardio/lifting exercises.

I think it's less about muscle memory and more about CNS training (..which is probably what you meant).

How much do you let life get in the way of health/fitness?

I think you guys think too much into it. Fitness is awesome, but you also need a life. The gym will always be there. I am very strict with my diet- "regiment"-as my college roommate called it and lifting, but I also realize part of life is balancing time and fun.

If you get off from work and everyone is going out foe the first time in a month and you can choose workout or go with them...go. You can pick right up where you left off the next day. Seriously. You'll be ok, your progress isn't going to be effected I just think some of you guys are too stuck up in the whole gotta workout every day. Dabears had a great point where he has 4 days free and works out for 3. Perfect time management. Look at Steve and his "arguably" stellar diet...besides the pesky ice cream.

JMO. Take with a grain of salt, as per usual.

Very well said, my sister has turned into one if these CF freaks and tries to preach it to everyone, her life revolves around it and it is extremely annoying. Everything out if her mouth is I did this at the gym, and you need to do this, or you should TRX. Shut up and go jump rope or whatever it is you do and let ne lift heavy ****.

I got back into lifting and training recently because I am doing a tough mudder in August and it's fun, I don't let it control my life.

And as far as dieting is concerned I have cleaned up what I eat tremendously, but using tonight as an example I ate almost a whole pizza for dinner, why, because I wanted to.

Went home last night from another unusually long week of work and had a scotch. And another scotch. And another. And about ten scotches later, I'm gonna murder myself in the gym in about an hour lol

I know, how many pounds total of meat/poultry/fish do you go through a week?

Sh|t! Good question! Ummm, I'd estimate about 3 lbs. of bacon and at least 10-12 lbs. of chicken.

And I thought I was consuming too much; 1.5lb lamb, 3.5lb chicken, 1lb turkey, 1.5lb salmon. A bit over half of what you eat.

Gotta eat big to pack on muscle. The old saying isn't around for nothing.

.....and I STILL don't eat enough to hit 200 lbs. lean.

I can't wait until I am at a physique I am happy with so I can bulk and add some real strength.
