carrying phone at the gym

besides arm bands and fanny packs.. how do fanatics carry their phone around the gym?

considering if you do a lot of explosive exercises requiring full range of motion like squats, clean and jerks, how do you comfortably store your phone without it bothering you or risk getting crushed/dropped?

Its horribly annoying, but all my music is on my iPhone, so it gets carried around in my pocket and feels like a piece of lead in there. Also I hate the urge to text while I'm lifting, in between sets and what - not, I always get texts and stuff from people and when I lift I like to be in a separated environment from that.

Leave it in the car, you can afford to not update your facebook status between sets.

i jog a mile to the gym from my house to warm up before my workout. i would say carrying a phone while joggin to the gym is the most annoying feeling but because I dont bring keys, wallet, or whatever, the phone is my best friend during an emergency.

i use my phone to log all my workouts & time rest periods, and just keep it in my pocket. If i'm doing something where phone might in danger of breaking / or a burden I just take it out and set it aside

I'm thinking of investing in an iPod shuffle... Has like 8 gigs or something and can hold easily all of my workout music, I'd clip that thing to my shorts and never think twice about it.
