My Ride: 330ci facelift cabri
Smile e46 multiple misfire and crackling noise

hi guys

so i am new on bimmer fest so excuse me if I am posting incorrectly or in the wrong place

i have a bmw 330ci convertible 2003 facelift - 228 bhp model m sport

Drives perfect, all gears smooth, clutching well, very very responsive...

on start up there is a cracking bumpy noise coming from somewhere as if something is clapping against the block (possible flywheel?)

engine management light is on - connected to diagnostics...

13 error codes mostly consisting of multiple misfire/cylinder 123456 misfire detected, system too lean, misfire detected due to low fuel

i re fuelled it with 20 worth of 95 octane unleaded from shell... resetted codes...

changed cylinder 2 coil module (Because it said pending cylinder 2 after checking the codes)

there seems to be oil and water mixing underneath the oil cap but it has cleared up now

right so driving is perfect, just idle this clucking rumbly noise (yes the vroom of the L6 is there as normal but this other noise like clunking/rumbling)

WHEN... the engine management light is on this noise is there and with multiple misfires etc...

BUT... when I clear the codes the noise goes away and eml does not come on for a while

why is it throwing out so many misfires? the car is not misfiring and drives perfect... at idle its steady...

misfire in all 6 cylinders? clearly not...

please please please someone help if anyone has had this issue before

im in west london if any local mechanics are on here... or email me direct ishqkhan8@gmail.com

one more thing... the car radiator seemed to have exploded... it is leaking water, expansion tank has split from the rad... will check in the morning when light outside..

thanks all!!!
