Obviously you know I have a wrangler, but I never understood why someone would drop an SUV. I don't see the point. If you want it lower, why not just get a sedan? To me the entire purpose of an SUV is some form of use (offroad, ground clearance, cargo space, etc.) The X5 has none of those things. Now, it's not a bad vehicle, but dropping it seems completely pointless to me.

OP, congrats on the ride. For the price, I would have gotten an SRT8 GC, but that's a personal choice. I wanted to get an X5 for the wife, but I couldn't justify the price. Im going to get her an Overland Hemi GC.

Which is why I said it might not be practical for his uses, but c'mon you can't deny that it looks pretty sweet. And let's be completely honest most x5s live most of their lives on paved roads so giving it a little drop doesn't seem that bad. But if you have any plans to go off road, OP, don't lower it lol.

I actually think it looks better at stock ride height. Looks kinda weird lowered. Just my opinion though.

How dare I not share the same taste in cars as someone else! The funny part is, Marc and I share MANY of the same tastes - up to and including the GT3. I just couldn't be a mindless drone in another 2 ton pile of steel. I'll have some sport with my vanilla, thanks.

Well, I said bye bye to my E92 M3 and...

I think this gen x5 looks great. Congrats OP! You can also carry lots of mountain bikes with it. If you're into that.

That being said here comes the token question.

Which did you prefer and had more enjoyable experience with? The E46 or E92 M3?

I was most emotionally connected to my 05' IB M3. We had some memorable moments together. My 11.5 E9X is the most technologically advanced, so I wouldn't be able to go back to an E46. All were sound mechanically (..although my 03' PY M3's motor blew up on the 5 freeway coming home from San Francisco, but BMW gave me no issues with motor replacement ), so I really can't complain. I haven't really had any issues with BMW's besides window regulators and HK speaker issues on my 02' 330ci.

No problem with PY, just know he's had several cars including the e46 in the two colors i mentioned. Not really sure which colors of E90 he had, but think one was AW. I know he had AW 330 though.

youll eventually get it, just give it like 3 years. See what recalls come out if any, see how the F.I. engine holds up... and most importantly how it feels.

i know itll be amazing, thats why i didnt jump on an e92 and just bought a vert which i never had.

now time to save some mulllaahh
