It's unfortunate when that happens.

Here are a few pics of my X with some upgrades (...22's, H&R suspension, 20mm rear/12mm front spacers, Macht Schnell 90mm Competition Stud Kit, etc.). Doing an X5M front bumper with a Vorsteiner CF front lip soon, along with some Stage 2 custom tuning by BMS. I'll also be upgrading to a set of MORR Deep Concave 1-piece wheels (...I don't really want to go the 3-piece route; failures scare me). Photos taken at EAS.

Haha! These 22's are just transition wheels. The OEM 20's just looked too inadequate for a vehicle of this size, and it bothered me. I think all X5's should have an OEM 22" wheel option, but that's just my opinion. I sold the 20's the same day that I posted them on Bimmerpost. My current 22" wheels look great on an aesthetically stock vehicle, but once the exterior is addressed (..X5M, Vorsteiner and probably the X6 LED headlights/fenders sometime down the line), I fear that these wheels won't provide the visual stimulation that I'm seeking. I'm a cheap ass and I'm very particular, so it takes me a long time to make a major purchasing decision. The MORR's are an idea that I will need to plant and allow to grow (...although I've already been in contact with a distributer and I'm working on a sponsorship price), and IMHO, deep concave wheels would look silly on my X at the current time; the front bumper is just not aggressive enough......yet! I've basically performed an "Inception" on myself. I don't have any doubts that I'll be able to unload my current wheels very quickly when the time comes.

I want a deep concave aesthetic........something like this:

Update: I'm not too worried as you can tell. I'm getting over 450 miles to a tank (...so just a tad over 20mpg for mixed driving).

I love the current X5 too, especially in M-Sport or ///M guise. I've been playing with the idea of owning one for at least a year, so I'm happy to finally have a chance to mod one. The F15 just looks proportionally abominable to me. I know that's a bit harsh, but my eyes just can't get into it regardless of the angle in which I view it. I feel the same way about the X6, but at least X6 looks good from the front when in ///M guise.

nice! I get 240 miles from my 20 gallons tank for mixed driving. I only drive about 10 miles a day so I feel alright.

In the X5M? That's actually pretty good. I've found that I can manipulate my MPG's favorably by using manual mode and choosing my own shift points. Automatic mode hangs in gear longer than I need it to on surface streets. D2 is pretty fun for speed runs, but I still prefer manual mode.

In all honesty, driving within or close to the posted speed limits (....often referred to as "Old Man Driving" by the "lead-foot-on-surface-streets-because-if-I'm-not-driving-10/10th's-100-percent-of-the-time-I'm-not-getting-the-most-out-of-my-car" crowd) keeps the gas mileage up, the tire tread healthy and me & my co-workers from hassling you on the side of the freeway.

Very nice!

I drove the X6 ///M a few years back at the BMW Performance Center in SC. I think it's the same engine . Either way, the X6 ///M was a beast and a blast to drive. Have fun with that

Not sure if you mentioned this previously, but does te X5 come stock with PPF (paint protection film) on the front of the rear wheel wells? I read a while back that many M sport owners were experiencing a tremendous amount of rock chips. With the addition of your spacers I'd definately look into that is film is not already applied at the factory.

Awesome ride, get the concave wheels now, it's ready.
