On a black car, I would probably stick with chrome, especially on a facelift. I like mine with the painted grills up front..

Blacked out looks good with aftermarket bumpers, but the boring flat bumpers that come on the post face cars makes it a hard choice for me.

I just plastidipped mine.

I like the black on steel grey cars but the chrome looks good too. I'm torn as to what I like better

Seems like the obvious is true. Some cars look great with either trim, depending on the entire package. Color, bumper, lights and rims.

Hello BMW Experts!
IMHO, in this age when auto makers are putting chrome around & on everything & anything, I think the blackout fad looks a bit...yesterday. The E46 chrome grill is not too garish, either.

I love the black grille on gray BMW's, especially if you go with smoked/clear corner lights, just did mine. Next I'd like to match the chrome trim around the windows with it next.
