I just bought my 5150 today...

Does EONON actually issues BIOS or software updates?

I read freezing software errors but only while using the nav...
any errors/freezing while streaming with Bluetooth or while using the radio?

Is anyone using the nav/maps issued by EONON?
If so, any software errors?

I did not read anything on the iPhone screen emulator. Is anyone using it?
I would think that this will solve software errors... using everything on the iPhone and just emulate the screen... anyone?

Updated the post - Canbus fix and illumination fix. Now everything seems to be working perfectly. I will have full diy, photos, and videos once I get the chance to.

Do you think this will resolve the issue for the older one as well?

Does your headunit does the random start up too? I would assume that it would also fix the older ones as well as long as the symptoms are similar.

I don't have either head unit but there are other members that have the older headunit with the canbus issue, I was just inquiring for them

Well done tnhl1989!! Will this mod disable/delay the backup camera? Because I think that the backup camera signal is controlled by the Canbus.

Just ordered a Eonon D5150! (New version of Eonon D5113/Enco B146)

I don't have a backup camera so I haven't tried. I'm still considering on which one to get at the moment.

Shout to anyone out there with a pre '02 BMW who've bought this (with reversing camera) want to make an instruction video? connecting the harness and dealing with the trim is fine, but getting the right wiring for the camera/dvd player and sorting out the canbus is proving tricky

yes it will disable the backup cam on the d5150 until the canbus adaptor is powered up,the backup signal on the d5150 is received through the canbus, however this will not affect the cam signal on the older d5113 as it uses a direct 12v feed from reverse circuit to the h/u.

Thanks.

I think I can live with that 20sec. Canbus startup delay, just purchased one relay from flea bay and should received it by next week, will install and see how it workout.

Well don't most people normally let their cars warm up for like 30s?

Also 20s isn't that long anyways. That is about as long as a full start-up of the head unit.

I feel that it's probably possible to reroute the wires to run the rear view camera without the canbus.

Just a few thoughts.

The adapter you have there is for later models with what I think is a FAKRA plug. Now, I have had my unit out again to attach the dimmer wire and while I was there I played with the aerial some more.
With the aerial adapter only connected I get ok/poor reception, when I attach it to the BMW aerial lead the reception doesn't seem to improve.

How does the BMW aerial amplifier get power?
Does it need a separate power supply?

I don't think mine is being turned on, can it be checked?

I think 99-2002 have old amps which gets power from the radios, the newer ones must get power from the other plugs connected, so you don't need to run power from the radio with the newer amp which you may need to get, look on ebay for one, must have same frequency as yours, its in this thread.
