Did anyone use the subwoofer output? Where is the remote wire (trigger wire) for an external amplifier?

Hi , I have installed Primo 2.4, much better than Kudos software that came Pre installed n the sd card. I'm having trouble increasing the volume of the spoken instructions in Igo. The sliders in the settings section are all at max but the slider bars in the top left of the main menu don't go above 1 bar. The volume is not so bad at slow speed but over 30mph you can hardly hear a thing. Has anyone had this same issue ?

DIY for cars with OEM NAV

Hello everybody and thanks in advance for any help provided.

I have a few questions before I pull the trigger on one of these units.
I have a 2006 M3 vert with OEM NAV and HK.

1. Has anyone made a DIY for vehicles with OEM nav?
2. Does anyone know of a particular ebay vendor that is providing the CANBUS V2 from the beginning without having to request a replacement.
3. Does anyone know a good source for the 5 meter extension cord needed for cars with OEM NAV. preferable one that doesnt need to be spliced to fit the EONON harness.

I'm deployed right now and would love to order this and be ready to install it on my R&R when I get home.

Thanks again.

Go into "System Settings" on the 5150 and set the Mix proportion to 8 and Enable GPS mix. The Mix proportion basically is the Volume of the GPS voice directions compared to the music level.

All of the newer units are shipping with the new Can Bus V2. FYI the eBay units only come with a 1 year warranty and the units directly from Eonon or the Group Buy come with a 2 year warranty. So I would buy one thru the Group Buy.

They mentioned here that you need an "extended wire harness" if you have OEM nav:

I think I may just wait untill they offer a unit with the correct cable included. I dont really want to do any splicing.

I have the 2001 330i with OEM NAV and CD stacker and you definitely need the following:

1. 5M extension cable ( 17pin or 40pin depending on your car )..what i did on mine is extend the length of the cable rather than buy a new one for $55.

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/171041552...ht_2731wt_1016

2. Metra cable

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/290906068...84.m1439.l2649

3. 5M Antenna cable

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/400276364...84.m1439.l2649

4. 5M RCA cable ( if you decide to connect a subwoofer )

5. 5M extra wire as remote/trigger wire for the amplifier to run the subwoofer ( i connected it to the blue antenna wire) - and it works.

Hope this helps

No power

Pulled the trigger and ordered D5150.
Still waiting on correct radio mount to relocate climate control, but while waiting went for a trial install. Had to purchase antenna adapter (2001 old HU with 2 antenna connectors) 5150 only comes with newer adapter.
Plugged it all up and no power !
Tried it twice and tested dash connector with old radio, no problem.
Harness looks correct and connected securely.
Still waiting on support answer.
Any suggestions ?
Could not seem to find a video install, seems so simple did not think I would need one.

No power D5150

Decent reviews D5150 thought I would give it a try.
Did a dry install while waiting for climate control relocation radio mount. No power!
Checked harness at radio connection according to diagram correct 12 volts, fuse good.
Anything I missed or just a bad unit ?
Thanks,
Murphy;s cousin

Once you install the oem harness to the harness adapter that comes with the unit and then into the back of the unit you should have power

So, has any body used an aftermarket amplifier?

If so, which wire did you use for pwr amplifier control?

It shows that pin nr 3 from the head unit is the pwr amplifier control but it goes to the can bus?

I think I have figured it out but feel free to correct me if I am wrong.

http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=245914

Pin 10 on the gray connector to the OEM amp should work. I will try it out tomorrow.

NOTE anyone interested in purchasing new unit please read the following
Researched this unit and purchased from eBay vendor ukcarhifishop before finding this thread. Unit arrived from Hong Kong and was DOA. Traced our from my harness, their adapter, to the unit, checked and swapped fuse no power.
Contacted vendor who agreed to evaluate the unit once I shipped it back to them. Shipping costs for original box USPS On line $76.71. Head Unit alone $59.95. currently I am waiting for the usual 24-hour turnaround e-mail response to attempt to get them to send a prepaid label.
Also note the unit does not come with an antenna adapter for older radios, granted you can pick one up for approximately 5 dollars
Carlos, if we purchase from your group buy how will our warranty be handled ?

Aftermarket Amplifier

Pin number 10 on the grey OEM amplifier connector works great as "power amplifier control" for after market amplifier.

i have a 2000 e46 and my connector in the boot looks like this:

other people are buying this, but can someone explain how that plugs into what I have? (I'm assuming they have the same connection to replace as me)
