I have the V1 D5150 and Canbus currently. I have a backup camera and didn't need to do any connecting of reverse feeds to get the backup to be recognized.

I've just recently received the V2 Canbus harness and can now utilize the V2 canbus. I notice this harness has a backup wire floating. What will I need to splice it into to get the backup camera reverse sensing function to work?

If your backup camera has the Red signal wire ( C & B ) running from the back to the front like the photo below connect that to the Orange "Back" wire. If it doesn't you need to run a wire from the glove box to the Orange wire. It's in my Eonon 5150 Install thread, link is in my sig.

Just saw your instructions. Any reason I can't ghetto rig it and just insert a wire into the reverse light fuse (number 27) to prevent having to tap into any wires on the OEM harness?

I've already had the camera all wired up, not wanting to mess with that again.

Not sure why they didn't utilize the canbus for the reversing since it would seem that the ibus control on the oem harness sends a reverse signal as the v1 canbus was able to translate and send to the head unit.

I'm sure that would work. Just do the quick connect method shown. That is a lot easier than the route I used connecting it to the spade terminal inside the connector.

Answered my own question. You can't use the fuse, it's receiving a constant power source at the fuse. Reverse input stays on the screen even when not in reverse. Camera powers on when actually in reverse, but the rest of the time it's a black screen.

How do you get to the back of that harness at the fuse box?

Just bought on Ebay - wished I had read this before, would have bought through the group buy - you guys/gals are great! I think I am ready to install - One question - 2001 330CI Vert with HK system. In the beginning of the thread there was a statement about needing LOCs because of the amplified sound with the HK amp - is that an issue? Did not see where LOCs were talked about again. Thanks in advance.

Daki_BMW, thanks a ton. The adapter did the trick--that's all I needed. I haven't gone out driving around, but in the garage AM stations are coming in. I call that victory.

I have the d5150 in my 330i 2003 BMW. I have updated the firmware to v25. does not seem any more stable than earlier versions. The only two difference I have noticed are:-
1. LED off when lights off, on when lights on. better than v18 i had where they are on regardless.
2. if i get a crash, the system now reboots automatically, whereas before had to do a reset with a pin and then have to go through setting again. So better, but would be nice if it didn't crash.

I think it crashes due to memory, i use a fully loaded igo primo 2.4. So i know the answer is to find time to cut down memory foot print, but this system is so complex that the time investment is too much for now, unless anyone has any wisdom here for me :-)

My question is has anyone installed wince patch on the 5150. I would like wifi - to tether to my phone to get real time traffic on primo 2.4. with this i would be really happy with the sat nav side, which is already impressive but lacking real time traffic, as i do the M25/M4 drive in UK this would be a very valuable addition, if only to tell me to divert every morning!

I don't want to the first to try this, as I am already on my second unit, after bricking my first eonon 5113 by accidentally plugging in the wrong lead into the the wrong socket in the back, my fault :-(
